I taped it to his next biggest toe...wondering if I should take him in for X-rays. It's a toe, can they do anything?

if you want to waste money, sure. It is a toe, they will wrap it and send you on your way

They can pin it if it’s displaced. If you think it’s broken he needs to go to the dr.

For a kid, yes. You need to make sure the bone is set properly for growth.

Yeah man. Take him. I made the mistake of breaking one and not getting it fixed once. It's messed up looking now.

I realize nothing can be done for a broken toe but given what morbid mentioned about possible ligament damage combined with the fact that I love my kid, I'd probably take him to the Dr.

Yes

If it is broken in his growth plate it could frick it up in the future

It's not incredibly likely but it's worth the trip

seeking parenting advice on the OT makes you seem like a shitty parent.

Accepting it will confirm that.

I don't believe in doctors, some doctor told my cousin he thought he had a broken toe and wanted to shoot xrays instead of refilling his fibromyalgia medicine

Yes. Get him to a Dr. Then have him sit out the tourney. Then schedule a grief counselor to help him deal with missing the tourney. Then set him up with a good PTSD therapist to help put this whole horrible ordeal behind him.

Normally, I would say it’s a toe and man up.
It’s your kid. If it’s out of alignment, he will need a pin or the doc to set it back in place.
