Why makes people give up on themselves?

I always just got pissed off and pushed forward harder when things went against me. Why is it so many people these days do the opposite and play the victim? Bad parenting?

Society today encourages the individual to look for someone or something else to blame for one's failure or circumstances. The individuals who choose to not let their situation define them overcome and achieve in life. The ones that agree with society that it is something else's fault just live bitter lives and go nowhere.

Man, I cant tell you how many times life has knocked me on my arse, but I think God gave me a great mind and an iron-clad will. I have had PLENTY of opportunities to throw the towel in on life, but I always believed in myself.

Easier way out unfortunately. Less work and you get to play the victim b/c you don't want to put in the work to fix yourself.

If you study how the brain works, it makes more sense.
There are actual mechanics misfiring (or not firing) within the brain that causes phyciatric problems.
