The UK will expel 23 Russian diplomats after Moscow refused to explain how a Russian-made nerve agent was used on a former spy in Salisbury, the PM says.

Theresa May said the diplomats, who have a week to leave, were identified as "undeclared intelligence officers".

She also revoked an invitation to Russia's foreign minister.

Russia denies being involved in the attempted murder of Sergei Skripal.

The Russian Embassy said the expulsion of 23 diplomats was "unacceptable, unjustified and short-sighted".

Look. I get why everyone's panties are in a wad.

But, when you spy for a government and then go to the other side, it is quite often a very unhealthy choice.

Are we going to just all sit here and pretend we don't know this?

I don't think anyone is disputing this?

Similarly, if you're a nation whose spy defects and you decide to kill him with a flashy chemical agent that injures several bystanders instead of a nice old-fashioned suicide, you can expect something like this

The honestly, I don't even understand the reaction.

The British would poison the frick out of one of their own if given the opportunity to deal with a sell out who fled to Russia.

It's Kabuki outrage.

What's to say exactly?

How dare you do exactly what we would do and almost certainly have done?

How many of the left "outraged" here in America want Snowden strung up and would have been 100% ok with shooting down his plane had he tried to fly out of Russia?

Careful. I know the answer to that question on this board at least!!

WTF would you have them do? Nothing? That is just not realistic.

I would absolutely expect retaliation against anyone using a chemical agant on US soil, wouldn't you?

I'm extremely confused. Not wanting Snowden dead for defecting and not wanting this guy dead for defecting seem pretty consistent.

Not the first time Russia has killed a former spy in the UK.

So a foreign government can send hit-men into the U.S., poison someone who has been granted asylum by our government and we should just say, "Well, okay, fair enough, that's what we expected"??

If that's not your point, what IS your point?
