That being said, I have heard numerous ppl complain about how underpowered the IS F Sports series is.
Well, it was still good enough to beat the benchmark that year.

Never drove the F Sport, but my last car was an E350. It was a nice car and all, had all the tech and was a very comfortable ride.
But my God was it just...boring. My BMW before it was a goddamn blast to drive. For that reason alone I'll never get a Lexus again.

An S5 is not aggressive enough for you? What do you normally drive?
I traded a manual M2 in on the S5. My wife was over trying to learn the manual and I wanted to get something that her and my son could enjoy as well. The car is plenty fast enough for what we use it for but i’m more of an RS guy. I wish the S5 looked a bit more aggressive like the RS with all of the black grill, trims and bits like they do the RS. I see the S5 as more of a touring car than a sports car like the M2 and other cars I’ve had like R35 and 911 turbo.

The ES is designed to be that. Shunning their entire line because their car designed to be comfortable and reliable and not flashy was exactly that is pretty silly.

Are we simply going to follow everything C&D post as the holy gospel?
That being said, I do think BMW should up their game in some categories. But I don't really by the "BMW's aren't fun to drive anymore" talk.

Fine, I'll also add that I drove a GS for a period as well.
Same feeling.
Now if I ever want a car that is wide and drives smooth as glass but isn't "flashy", that LS is a great looking car.

The first article wasn't C&D. Do you have something to refute it or just don't feel like admitting I may not be as ignorant as you want me to be?

What year? Because the relatively new GSs have been positively reviewed as well

We called a Lexus the “Ultimate Driving Machine.” In a four-car comparison that included a 2012 BMW 535i and 2013 Lexus GS 350 F Sport, we fell in love with the then-new GS. Years later, underneath the GS 350’s overdone face-lift is a midsize luxury sedan whose focus remains on fun.

This was a while back so it was an older model. I believe it was an '05.
The new GS looks cool, but I'd take the 5-series over it any day of the week. Just personal opinion.

I own both. Specifically an is f (v8) 416 hp and also a full bolt on and tuned BMW 335i. I have owned two is350s (2007 and 2010). I know the product. An m3 (what the isf was built to compete against) is faster than the is f. It just is. I went with the F because I didn't want m3 problems. BMW performs but they have way more problems. A Lexus will run forever. I like both brands for different reasons.

I don't want to completely swear off Lexus because I really like how the RC F looks.

there ain't no one who test drove a GS 350 and then a Toyota Avalon could tell a difference. But if it makes you feel better about yourself driving the Lexus, the Toyota Motor Corp. appreciates your purchase.

That's because Audi's S line is just a performance edition of their base models. You need to look at Audi RS models to really compare with BMW M. The S models used to be comparable to M way back when, but not anymore.

Can you stop posting stupid things in this thread? If you can't tell the difference between a RWD Lexus and a FWD Toyota, you have no business discussing this stuff.

quote:Yes understood. I think that Audi's steering is too light compared to BMW M and Porsche. I understand about the RS being top level but I still think the steering is too light. I love the interiors and styling etc. I test drove the RS3 when I got the S5 but there were some things I couldn't just get past, manual drivers seat being one. I also have a 2017 R8 v10+ that I also think the steering is a bit light. My R8 doesn't have the dynamic steering option which I have heard doesn't make as much of a difference. My M2 had the best steering Ive felt in a modern car with electric steering. on par with my former 991 turbo S. Another thing Im not so sure about is the ZF 8 speed that everyone is using. I like the quirks and crispness of a DCT or PDK. Maybe the RS5 that is just now coming out will address that with a more aggressive shift program.
