People used to enjoy the Oscars because it was a chance to see actors out of character, it was glamorous, it was fun, it preserved the whole idea and facade of Hollywood glamour, and actors knew their role as entertainers and the value of their audience. Now we have more than enough exposure to actors out of character, most show their asses regularly on social media, and the whole Oscars show is 4 hours of condescension and virtue signaling directed at the people who buy movie tickets. There's nothing glamorous or fun about it anymore and it's no wonder no one wants to watch. Who wants to see who these idiots really are?
