Possible NBA rule change

With Adam silver talking about opening the nba back up to kids right out of high school could this really hurt the recruiting class for this year? I know it depends on what rules the NCAA would pass along with this but if they instituted a college baseball type rule I could see every member of the recruiting class choosing the professional route.
The nba is said to increase the developmental league for these young players. I don’t know if any of the 4 would choose college over a nba developmental league

Even if such a change does come, and I feel it likely is, I doubt it would be instituted fast enough to affect this recruiting class. I believe the current rule is part of the CBA, so they would have to change that.

If they did not boost the developmental league and increase possible salaries for that league I could see maybe a couple still attending school but I think Reid and Williams would be gone

True. When is the next CBA to be voted on?

It would be wise for this recruiting class to opt for the NBA instead of enrolling in college for a year or two. At least they will earn a legitimate pay check either way. Of course this will suck for LSU and every other top 10 team!

The most recent one was a 7 year deal I believe. So 2023 or 2024 I think.

College basketball would be so much better if players couldn't go pro out of high school and had to stay for at least 3 years, like the NFL.
However, if they're not going to require that, I would rather see guys go straight to the pros instead of the one and done crap.

Adam Silver talks about a lot of things, it's when he actually acts that I appraise and acknowledge his performance

I would even prefer the baseball rule -- go pro if you want/can, but once you start at college, you are there for three years.
I don't think any rules change until we know a lot more about the FBI case, though.

Oh absolutely. The one and done phenomenon has cheapened the game so much. I remember cheering for Wisconsin so hard against Duke because their star (Kominsky) was a senior as opposed to Okafor.

LSU and every other top 10 team!

Baseball has it perfect. You think you are good enough to go pro after high school, go!
If you go to school it'll be damn sure worth your time and you'll spend 3 years.
Kids should have the option to pick one or the other.

I agree with this but this only works if you have a minor league system like MLB has.

Please explain? NBA has a D league. If they are good enough to play in the D league, then go pro.

Not every team has their own GLeague team. That’s the problem atm

No such thing. These kids need to learn to be patient and enjoy their time in college. It flies by and when it's gone it's gone.

College will always be there when you're done being paid

College ball is a waste if you have nba talent.
