I really thought Sonny Weems would have had a better NBA career.

I have several guys who I really enjoyed watching in college but didn't really pan out in the NFL.
Mettenberger from LSU, he was from GA and performed admirably at LSU and looked like he had the tools to be a decent NFL qb, I was always rooting for him to succeed.
Marcus Lattimore from S. Car, such a good rb whose career was very unfortunately riddled with bad injuries preventing him from playing in the NFL.
Aaron Murray and Jarvis Jones from UGA
Rolando McClain, he was such a spectacular LB at Bama but was beset by off the field issues it seems. I was surprised he did not pan out in the NFL.
Also, Maurice Clarett from OSU.

Scotty Thurman - badass basketball player from Ruston who hit a dagger when Arkansas won the NCAA.

Greg McElroy.
Tell me you wouldn't rather have him playing than commenting

Ki-Jana Carter. A classic what could've been.

Weems has become a tier one player in Europe. One of a handful of guys who has consistently made 7 figures for the last five years.
Lattimore is a great pick.

I really rooted for Michael Ford. I know some of his family. He was an athletic freak, but I guess he ultimately didnt have enough football skill to make it in the league. I didnt expect him to have some great career, but I atleast wanted to see him last a few years.
Morris Clairbourne- I really expected him to be a star in the league. I was really high on him, unfortunately he has been a mediocre cb his whole career.

Football: Zac Stacy and Jonathan Krause. Something happened with Stacy that either he never really cared enough to play football professionally or that made him stop caring enough. He had a great rookie year then showed up out of shape, which did not make any sense for how he was lauded at Vandy, and never recovered. Krause has bounced around on practice squads since he left Vandy and even gotten promoted to active rosters a few times, but he was never able to stick. His contributions across from Jordan Matthews at Vandy were always underrated, even by other Vandy fans.
Basketball: John Jenkins and Festus Ezeli. Jenkins was such a fun shooter to watch, especially when he was feeling it, but he was just too deficient defensively to ever make it in the NBA. Ezeli was such a great story going from super raw Freshman (redshirted) to a pretty dominant big man, but injuries have derailed his NBA career. He was looking to be a good role player for the Warriors until the injuries started.

Danny Wuerffel.
When the Saints drafted him I thought he was going to be a HOF QB. I didn't understand the concept of a system player back then.
