i have been wrestling with this more and more lately. here's the progression i have gone through
1. these people are good, intelligent people who i just disagree with on most matters. we want the same things but, we just have a different way of approaching it
2. i can't fathom how intelligent, well educated people think these [liberal] ideas work or make sense or are beneficial. no matter how much i cite facts or objective substantiation, they remain intransigent. JUST LOOK AT EUROPE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD
3. these people are a special kind of obstinate. how many times do i have to prove that cnn/nyt/etc lies? at what point do you stop being fooled by them?
4. this is just deranged. no reasonable, rational person could go to the lengths they are to defend what is obviously nonsense.
i'm beyond the "do they really believe or are they trolls" distinction. i'm at "you need help."
i fully understand that what i'm saying is quite derogatory but it is based on extensive experience. i'm having trouble coming to a conclusion other than their goals being demonstrably incompatible with anything that makes sense for the good of human beings.
i want to be wrong and i am willing to listen to anyone who will help me understand the resident libs or libs in general

Many left leaners do this. If you never explain a solid stance, you can never be wrong.
so again, i've gotten past the idea of them being incapable of connecting the dots because they are merely uninformed or if they are trolling. i'm at the stage where they are so deluded and ideologically committed, they absolutely can't even see that dots need to be connected. so they keep you arguing in silos in order to keep you from looking at the big picture.
