Dumbas both their records at LSU for as many games as each coached. It's a fact. This has nothing todo with Saban at Alabama. Saban at LSU game for game Saban in his 4th year went 13-1 and won an NC at LSU stay for one more year then left. O so far is 15-6 21 games Saban first 21 game they are close to being par. Not hard to understand but for some it may be.

Besides his 13-1 record and NC title his other years at LSU were ok 10-3 Was best year after that
Go back and look at LSU's records the previous 2 years prior to 2000. More than that, go back and look at what LSU did during the entire 90's decade.
Saban changed an entire culture here. LSU's facilities were shite prior to 2000. TAF was a joke prior to 2000. LSU couldn't sign the elite players in the New Orleans metro area prior to 2000.
He won a SEC title in his 2nd season after the dreadful 90's. He won a SEC and National Title in his 4th year.
I know, I know, he probably shouldn't have had Mauck still in the game late against Florida in 2002. But... had Mauck not broken his leg, 2002 would easily have been a 10+ win season for LSU.
He was mentally gone in 2004. He always wanted a NFL gig, and that was pretty much all that was on his mind in 2004.
His 2 year stint in Miami cured him of that itch. That Miami stint is what has helped make him be the best of the best at Alabama. H

I have watched LSU play for many years but never thought they had poor talent WTF
Well get ready, if this past cycle was an indication, top ten classes fare a thing of the past.
You must have missed the 90’s...

Yeah Saban was pretty overrated as a coach. He fluked into that championship at LSU and then fell on his face when he tried to parlay his success into bigger and better things. Whatever happened to that guy anyway?

Saban did not become GOAT at LSU Miles did as well. He became GOAT last 7-8 years

Let me try it this way. Let's say Coach K retired last year and Duke had a new basketball coach. Would you say that the new Duke coach and Will Wade had the same opportunities to succeed this year?

This is not an argument it is fact so far O is par to Saban

Hahahahha! It never fails, the ole "If you look at Sabans record outside of the 13-1 NC year, no context to what LSU had been the prior decade" post. Yeah let's compare Saban to Ogeron....

He was the highest paid coach in football when he went to the NFL won a NC and built a program.
O can’t build a program that’s already built.
I mean He can break it down and try and rebuild it.

Been discussed years ago, as many NFL players as any LSU team was inherited by Saban.

13 Years dude. That’s how long Saban has been gone. Stfu.
Posted on 3/3/18 at 3:32 pm to LSUMIKEV
Absolutely. Saban lost to UAB in his first year, O lost to Troy. The similarities go on and on.

Dinardo did leave some talent. James and Faulk at LB, Ryan Clark, Robert Royal, Brandon Winey, Dominick Davis, Josh Reed...
Wasn’t completely bare.

That's a good point, I may have gotten a bit carried away with the "little talent" comment. Still don't think it's comparable to what O was left with when you factor in the differences in the culture of the programs at the time as well.

This will not end well. O or this thread.
