When will you morons learn?
Trumpkin logic, devoid of rational thought, omissive of all the factors before speaking and in your case posting.
since when is labor in the US not compared to abroad in the bottom line of companies here and abroad as far as
'they will cave, lower prices and mines will reopen here in the US.'

Trump just raised the cost of living for every US resident, every consumer/resaler of manufactured goods, every construction company, every aluminum and steel manufacturer. and you think its a win.

Tariffs only benefit people making steel and raise prices on everyone else. Milton Friedman has several short youtube vids breaking down how tariffs effect the economy. It's not good

I hate to break it to you, but liberals also invest in the stock market. You guys don't have a monopoly on financial issues.
When the market went up non stop from November 16 to January 18 they said it didn’t matter and only rich people invested in the stock market so it wasn’t helping anyone.
Now we have a bad week and the stock market matters again.

I'm a purchasing agent who buys a crap load of structural steel and pipe. I don't even buy that Chinese garbage because it sucks and won't pass code.

uh, SkyScreamerhog, what's the multiplier factor when a US worker spends that paycheck? Heres a 2012 chart showing you what happens when you spend locally vs big box. Local recirculation of monies are 35% more
Now image that on a greater scale as those steel and aluminum paychecks begin going to Americans, and not Canadians, Mexicans, and Brazilians?

US metal products are considered superior to Chinese. Let the market decide.
Protectionism is not a conservative principle.

Tariffs are unnecessary. About the only think they'll do is trigger a larger trade war.

quote:You're just like the conspiracy theorists. Rather than make a valid and logical argument, you make a ridiculous claim, so instead of forcing anyone to counter with a valid and logical retort, you've created such a nonsensical claim to counter, that they retort would be a hyperbolic strawman that could be dismissed if it weren't for the fact you forced one to argue that.
and will plunge the world economy into a Hoover-like depression:
It's a disservice to logical arguments against tarrifs, and is in fact, a disservice to logic itself.

If conservatism is related to more free markets, tariffs run strongly counter to that.

Hyperbole? You conservatives buy into bullsh*t conspiracy theories like Uranium One, which has been debunked, and shadow governments, which don't exist. You're the kings of hyperbole.
