How many programs have been better than lsu at getting to the cws since CPM took over?

How many programs have the fan base? 0
How many have the resources? 0
How many have the recent tradition and prestige? I'd argue none like LSU
How many have the facilities and atmosphere? Again, I'd argue LSU is tops

With that said, shouldn't LSU have higher expectations that other teams that are matching us? If not, why are we pouring so much into it to get the same result?

Most teams would like the result we had last year.

Baseball fans are worse than any football fan at LSU any day of the week. I love both sports, but I would much rather sit with football fans when things are going poorly. Many of the Baseball fans I come across have zero clue about Athletics and how a business works. They just think about Omaha and that's about it. I also guarantee a large majority of these chicken littles did not watch LSU baseball until about 10 years ago when we went our last National Championship. We never won anything before skip Bertman and we have won one title since. It's just not that easy in a day of parity.

Mike Martin : Head baseball coach at Florida State: 40 seasons.

Has 1,944 wins ( 2nd behind Augie Garrido)

Has. (.737) winning pct.
Has 39 seasons of 40 + wins per season.

HAS NOT won a National Title at FSU.

Ole Miss, Miss St., S. Carolina, Ark., TCU, A&M, UT all have about the same fan support as us
Ole Miss and State actually have better gameday atmospheres

All these schools plus Fla, Vandy, and few others have the same resources and facilities as LSU and many other schools are pouring more money into baseball

No one is serious. Calling for Paul's head has become an unwritten rule of LSU baseball.

They’re probably the same people who want to run Will Wade out of town and think Ed O is “cleaning up Les Miles’ mess”

I agree totally with you. There is a guy in Lafayette who gets way more out of less talent. LSU has every bit of resources to not get knocked out by a Houston or Stoney Brook.

You believe this? LSU has lead attendance for 22 consecutive years, and last year, 2nd place was 30% behind LSU. So it isn't even close. LSU doubles 6th place. So it isn't possible that other teams have the same or better resources around baseball than LSU. But keep telling yourself that.

Further evidence of the growing effort by LSU fans to accept being an above average team instead of the powerhouse we should be.

The LSU attendance numbers are not actual attendance but tickets sold.

The Grambling game this past Tuesday was announced at over 10,000 but the actual attendance was less than 3,000.

LSU stopped announcing actual attendance years ago because the number of no-shows was embarrassing. Also, if actual attendance was announced we would no longer be the attendance leader that we claim to be.

That’s paid attendance dumbass. We lead because we have the biggest ballpark
Go to an actual game and see how many people are in the stands
How many other parks have you’ve been to?

Anybody that wants to get rid of CPM is too dumb to insult. The list of active coaches better than him is REALLY short.

Dumbass? Are you trying to tell me that the numbers posted for other teams aren't paid as well? So wouldn't that make it a wash?

Oh I get it. We announce paid, while all the other teams on this list, list their actual attendance?

And I'm the dumbass?

I don't think we are the largest, but I'm sure we are close to the top. But logic tells me that we HAVE a large park because of the demand and the support behind the program. Thus proving my point. And I'm the dumbass?

So let's get John Doe U to put up a 15k stadium when their average is 3k. And I'm the dumbass?

CPM is a great coach. Perhaps the best college coach.

I really don’t know who you can say is better without having an argument full of holes. Pat Casey has an argument but he seems to be the type to have a super team followed by 4-5 years of meh followed by another super team.

I wouldn't mind seeing Storz go to a summer league to DH for about 100 plate appearances after he finished getting his innings in, just to see where he's at with the bat.

ETA: I meant to post this in the Labas thread.
