I'm gonna go ahead and remove Morgan City from this conversation as I wouldn't exactly call it charming.

Houma. Bigger and at least you’re not far from New Orleans.

Morgan city is as depressing as it gets. It's hard to believe that in the 70s they had more millionaires living there than anywhere else in the state.

Houma is quite charming compared to Morgan City, and Houma is not really charming at all.

They still have their fair share, but man any kind of growth it was experiencing in the past has come to a complete stop.

Raceland by far. 25 minutes from Houma, 25 minutes from Thibodaux, 50 minutes from NOLA if you’re looking to get shot.

Goal Post and Becks bar put them over the top. Walmart being substantially less crowded and trashy than typical Walmart’s is an added bonus.

Simon Gruber is right. Nearby (6-9 mins south) is the Led Zeppelin Career Magnet Center in Lockport. Raceland was also recently e’en higher on the list, but DPM closed so it gets a bump down.

You baws that say Thib, what is it that makes it nice?

University adds a touch more education, culture, interest?

Better food? Stores? Schools? Scenery?

I rate those cities by hunting and fishing. Nothing charming about them.
