This is a lie, like your contention that the Loch Ness monster lives off the coast of Oakland.
Let me ask you, what exactly would you do if someone was standing in your front yard right now, screaming threats to your life? Be honest.

Why on earth would they do that? What kind of world do you live in that this is a constant fear for you? Jesus, get some help for that.

I'd remind my ex that the restraining order was 100 yards

So you don't want to answer. You realize that just because nobody is standing in front of a school screaming threats, doesn't mean the school or anyone else isn't at risk, right?
Answer the question. It won't hurt you. You may have to come to grips with the idiocy of your statement though.

She would skyscream while on the phone with the popo ... you know, wanting them to send someone with a gun. But as you say, she’ll never answer that question honestly, if at all.

In your world, someone would never threaten you harm, but you still want to remove all guns. If these threats don't exist, why do we need to ban guns?

Would you bet against a bigger male or female taking gun from teacher or the two of them wrestling for it and two kids in class get shot before anyone gets the gun from the shooter.
So, in your mind, if there is an active shooter at a school and a trained teacher takes out his gun to defend students, other students are going to try to wrestle the gun away from a teacher they know is there to protect them?

BTW, I don't live in constant fear. I don't live in constant fear of a house fire either, but I have fire extinguishers where they are needed. I carry a pistol everywhere I go, except for gun free zones like schools of course, so I don't have to live in fear. I give myself the responsibility of defending myself, and my loved ones, and if you happen to be in the same convenience store, or restaurant where I am, you can rest assured that if our lives are being threatened, I will defend yours too. I can't imagine any rational person would deny that protection to kids in a school.
Oh, and you're welcome.

Start with better training for law enforcement and enforcing the laws on the books.
I think almost everyone supports this. The problem is when law enforcement and school administrators refuse to discipline minorities because they consider it to be racist.
This, however, will not reduce the response time of law enforcement.

Then if that doesn't work, craft new law
The solution to failed government is obviously more government. If criminals don't follow the current laws, they will surely follow the new ones.

you know, it's entirely possible to want schools to be safer AND not want more guns on campus
I know it seems unfathomable to you but those two things aren't actually mutually exclusive

The government is incapable of protecting you. Parkland is just the most recent example.
I'm all for letting communities decide if they want to allow some armed teachers with additional training.
I'm also for pussy cops tossing their guns to coaches that would like to do more than shield teenagers with their own bodies.

And yet, nobody has thought of it, or implemented it yet. How many years since Columbine now? The extent of our action since then has been to put up a proverbial neon sign on our schools, telling the evil and the mad where the soft targets are.

the taxpayer-funded SRO is incapable of protecting you
but a taxpayer-funded teacher at a public school is capable of protecting you
I read on these boards all the time how teachers are just propaganda arms of the government. And they are paid with taxpayer funds.
Yet, somehow the government-funded police officer with the weapon is not capable of protecting you but the government-funded teacher is.
Or do you mean that students should be able to arm themselves because the government is incapable of protecting you?

um, lots of people have talked about it
and the things that actually have demonstrable impact on school safety don't get the attention or don't get the funding
as someone who has been part of the conversation for a couple of decades now, I can assure you the discussions have been had. People have thought of it. There has been implementation.
But there's also lots of bureaucracy and lots of cost and lots of catching up to do.
To assume that just because YOU haven't seen anything means nothing has been proposed or thought of or done is incorrect. The fact that you think putting up a sign is the extent of the ideation or implementation just shows how little you know about this

Right. And the fact that there were 17 people laying dead at a school in Florida a week or two ago shows that people like you have been jerking themselves off, pretending that they are doing something to protect kids.

Like I said any time you suggest doing something to actually protect kids, you get bullshite like this from the left.
