Extend the school day by 30 minutes. Have as many staff outside as you need, checking every bag before allowing entry.

Have all entry doors locked at all times with buzzed entry.

Classroom doors locked from the outside at all times with only staff having keys. simple tutorial for kids to know how to buzz on intercom in case of emergency, or have a school cell phone/walkie in each room for emergency use.

Kids only need the perception that it's too hard to pull off. hell they all smoked in bathrooms until schools started putting fire detectors in them.

Basically, don't make it so GD easy.

I agree with you. A deterrent is typically cheaper and usually makes kids feel that its impossible to pull off.

That said, I think the bigger issue is what leads to these crimes. We need better systems to counsel troubled youth.

Problem will never be solved until we can minimize the hate these people develop. Focus on creating a world where no one is exposed to environments that create hatred. This will never happen w identity politics and everyone looking to be offended, however.

I'm all for learning about what causes people to exhibit highly antisocial behaviors. I kinda feel like many of these people are the puppies that the mother doesn't suffocate after childbirth. Not sure there is much one can do for a person with his wires crossed.

Soft targets are a huge problem and there isn't much we can do about it.

Couldn’t agree more. Schools need real therapists in them that can meet with kids and hear about things behind the scenes.

Mental health is doing serious harm to the modern world. It needs to be taken much more seriously than it is right now.

The Florida school had 2 sheriff's deputies patrolling the school.

Absolutely nothing should be done to improve “school security.” Ridiculous ideas like this are no different than emotional cries for gun control. You can’t make the world any safer, some kids are just going to get killed. Deal with it. It’s really not a big deal.

I think a good plan.

One armed reacher per 125 kids.

Training twice a year. Psych evals every semester for the ones carrying.

Keep guns in their class in a hidden gun safe.

Teach the whole staff emergency situations and plans.

Mandate psych evals to any kids who seem threatening. Manadtory to return to school.

Allow God back in school. I didn't say force it rather allow it. Over the past 50 years we have compromised the importance of life. Reap what you sow.

Many schools already do this. So do prisons and airports.

How about:

We discipline kids starting in kindergarten
Keep disciplining them as necessary
Remove the crazy/trouble makers from school
Let the teachers arm themselves

Why is this always part of the suggestions instead of wearing the guns on their person? They make holsters for a reason.

I’m supportive of tightening school security. 100%.

And let’s say the school security measures work, and the shooter instead takes his gun to a movie theatre or restaurant or church or gym or grocery store? What then?

You’re looking at the problem through a straw, which is fine if you want to put a bandaid on this thing. Widen your lense if you actually want to solve the problem.

Yep. Especially youth in foster homes with no real guidance who have mental issues and threaten everyone on Facebook.

Wouldn’t classrooms locked from the outside be against fire code?

I find it very interesting with the death of Billy Graham you see harmonious news coverage from all the media outlets of this great human being. The harmony is not exactly Billy Graham the man rather the message he spoke about - God's love for ALL of us. God's Word and message is the only thing I have ever witnessed that has brought harmony to people of so many different walks of life, races, class, etc.
Nothing more to add.....

What a colossal piece of shite you are. Things CAN be done, and say that it isn't that big of a deal to the families of Sandy Hook/Parkland victim's.
