So I agree banning guns won't fix the problem

But what do you guys suggest, this is getting out of control and only getting worse. What you do to fix the problem? Mainly these school shootings, I have a 7 year old and not going to lie I'm starting to worry every time i hear something like this.

Need to secure the schools and that means more than video cameras and a few locked doors.

Nobody here thinks it’s a problem, good luck.

Objectively, it's really not

I suggest we start by not having emotional overreactions to statistically insignificant events. If we get to that point, maybe we can have reasonable discussion.

Arm the teachers with rubber bullet guns

Teach them how to tackle or chase them off. Give them bats.

I think it's a pretty significant situation every time these kids are getting killed at school, would you say the same if it was your niece or nephew or your children

More concealed carry.
Universal concealed carry.
No soft targets.
Train teachers to concealed carry.
Start breeding a culture of love for the strangers. Cause some of these little shits need love, or they shoot up the place.

Locked doors with card key access on the back of the students identification card. Multiple armed security officers and plenty of video cameras. And last but not least decisive action when someone sees a problem and reports it.

I'm all about making it safer than it already is but you idiots just run around screaming "the kids! The kids! We have to change something" without ever offering up any ideas. And banning semi autos or "ARs" (lol) won't do shite. 90% of shootings are carried out by handguns on the inner city streets of Democrat run gun free cities.

You're talking about emotional significance. I'm not.
I'll answer anyway, in the interest of discussion. That would be significant to me, but I wouldn't expect over 7 billion others to find it significant. It's tragic for those families, but it's not something that should be used to make changes to who we are. Do you weep every single time someone dies? Do you wail for measures to stop those events? No. Why not?

why did this not happen so frequently 20, 30, 40 years ago?

To the OP:
If you really want to change something with our schools, first you're going to have to get through to dumbasses who make statements like the above. Not being able to see beyond the utopian gun control, more laws, more government model is a big part of the problem, and many schools are ran by idiots just like him.

You seem to lack basic awareness and reading comprehension. The endless threads on this issue and the incredibly predictable responses speak for themselves. At the end of the day, the general consensus on this board is it isn’t an issue and we ultimately shouldn’t respond.
Unless you count the suggestions everybody knows they don’t actually support (increasing taxes for expanding mental health care and/or armed security at every school).
I mean you don’t have to lie to yourself, what’s the upside there?

Access control and eliminate the “Gun Free Zone”.
