Your fear is a carry over from the Miles regime. Ensminger will start the best QB regardless of “experience.”

But it will be made that way especially if Brennan wins the job, if Narcisse wins it won't be a big deal but if Brennan does it most certainly will be just like EVERY TQ thread compared with every Diarse, everyone was happy for Diarse while TQ was actually called the great white hope with no repercussions on this board....All TQ did was break the national high school records then go to a team that would throw to him and have an amazing year, even then it was ONLY because the WR on the other side of him was so great...then the story line became "he won't do shite in the pros" I bet he does and everything I've said is factual but some people will act like I'm crazy and pushing a false narrative

Fortunately, we have a guy in DC who is trying to change that.

You're joking right?
How does this possibly come into play in a position battle for quarterback in a college program. You let it play out in practice and on the field. Whoever is better should start. It's not about anything other than performance.

The main point Narcisse supporters tend to cling to is the notion LSU must have a dual threat quarterback to beat a team like Alabama. Really, there’s not much basis for that claim. Not to mention, when you look at the Tigers’ history at the position, it’s clear they’ve not found much success with dual-threat quarterbacks. Brandon Harris, who ultimately transferred to UNC, was the latest case of this.

This is the thing I don't agree with.

I'm not saying we have to have a dual threat to beat Bama, but the only players that have beaten Bama have been dual threats running spread offenses. Bama has lost 8 times total the past 6 years. Every time they have lost to a dual threat QB running a spread offense.

The other thing I don't agree with is him saying just because we've had problems with dual threats under Miles, that we should just forever give up on that. Um... that's idiotic. Dual threats are dominating college football. There isn't some magic Alabama fairy dust that keeps LSU from having a good one, we just need the right coaches and the right recruits, simple as that. Miles didn't have a legit QB coach from the time Fisher left to when Cam was hired. And with Cam only really knowing how to improve an NFL level QB, it became obvious after a while that he had absolutely no idea how to mold a raw prospect out of high school.

For the position that is the most key position in all of football period, we had decidied to half arse it for over a decade now. A great QB can make any team look 100 times better, ask Bama and Tua.

Bo Wallace wasn't a dual threat.

youre point still stands as it seems to be the most effective way to beat Bama but I still don't believe it's a necessity.

This is one of the rare times I'm actually hoping for a 2 qb system. They have very different skill sets and forcing teams to prepare for both would be nice. Also having 2 experienced qualified qbs would be a welcome change.

Ensminger should know about 2 qb systems.

This never happened under Les. Most people screamed and screamed that Harris would never start. Boom, he's the starter.

People also tend to forget that Lee was the older more experienced player, and JJ then started.

Just another bullshite myth.

Bo Wallace had 395 carries in 3 years. He averaged 131 carries a year. Even if he was sacked 60 times, that's still 71 carries PER YEAR, of him running. How is that not a dual threat?

Jordan Jefferson's most carries in a year were two more than what Bo Wallace did in his least carried year.

Anytime you mention that LN will beat out MB, you will get downvoted like crazy. Put it the other way with MB beating out LN and you will be praised. People on this board will always pick the white guy.

The aggressiveness that helped get him the job went out the window once he got a $3.5 mil/year contract to protect.

But but but..
Mind listing those defensive powerhouses he “beat” to get him that job?
None of those teams could stop the run. And we’re ranked at the back end of the scoring defenses in the country. I’m talking Texas Tech bad without an offense.
