Funny how that works isn't it. Yet, many people put SO much stock in the yo-yo's that rate the players. ANYone can pick a 4 or 5 star prospect from the stands. They are usually men among boys on a high school team. The trick is evaluating the marginal players with potential.

Agreed even though I see him as more of a 3rd down back. But that role my be more of an every down back if we are more pass oriented.
I get why people think that (his size), but he's actually very stout and strong. He's roughly 5'8", but word was he's around 215-220. That's a damn cannon ball and thick enough for between the tackles running. Think Ray Rice (not saying he's that good).
And he runs angry, similar style to Guice. He doesn't have that break away speed, but he's shifty and powerful.

Yeah I really think CEH surprises a lot of people.

I agree with everything except this. While Ensminger wasn't a flashy hire, nothing about anything he has said or done or anything that has been reported about him makes it seem like he is in over his head.
He just failed as an OC three times at 3 major programs, has turned down this job several times, hasn't been an OC in over a decade, and is a bit older, especially to be designing a new offensive style out of scratch. That's why I say that.
I sincerely hope he fricking crushes it and we light the world on fire.

I agree that his resume isn't the greatest but I don't think it's cuz he's in over his head.
O is in over his head and it is evident by all the blunders and constantly contradicting himself in the media.
I believe Ensminger has a plan, it's just a matter of if he can execute it.

I meant that more as a compliment to him being a good receiver out of the backfield. I just haven't seen enough of him as a runner to really form an opinion. He is definitely shifty in space though.

If you really want to get their panties in a wad, tell then there are like 120 teams that play in FBS, making that class in the top 10%.
I was going to freak them out by pointing out that GOD lost two commits who flipped the past class but I didn't want their heads to explode. GOD lost a 5-star linebacker and a 4-star defensive tackle. These two guys who stiffed GOD were actual commits to the program before flipping the bird in heaven's direction.
Both articles are at the bottom of this page/board.

NOOOOO !!! Lord Saban had TWO COMMITS flip from Alabama !!! Holy shite, the world is coming to an END !!!

I hope that we open it up and toss it around more. CEH could have a balanced role get 1,000 AP yds.

Not to mention neither could get regular PT over Gage.
So, a push, like I said. Got it.
We will have at least 3 guys with more receiving yards than Russell Gage had last year, and could reach upwards of 5 or 6.

Based on what? Losing 6 players off of the two deep?
Lacouture
Gilmore
Herron
Key
Alexander
Thompson
All I heard this past season was how weak CL and Gilmore were. Lawrence and Ed Alexander were the 2 top DL and they were hurt most of 2017. They are healthy now and Fehko who coaches called "unblockable" in scrimmages steps in. Shelvin is a mammonth and will plug the middle along with Ed. We also added good depth on signing day.
Healthy Key is a loss. 2017 Key? Chaisson needs to add weight/strength and technique, but he has the raw skill to be great and showed flashes last year. Cherry and Moore are good WDE prospects as well.
Donnie Alexander was horrible. He was losing PT to Phillips and Taylor. Healthy Thompson is a loss, but Jacoby Stevens is being considered as a safety/OLB hybrid and has the athleticism to be great.

Offensive line should also be improved overall as a unit
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Based on what? The two best linemen declared for the draft.
Ingram and Charles will be seasoned sophmores. Our OL was injured and shuffled the first 5 games of the season. Traore is more athletic than Weathersby and should start immediately. He was the top JUCO OT. Toby was good, but erratic. Clapp will be a loss, but coaches have been pleased with Cushenberry's development. We also got good recruits and depth this year. Magee is capable of starting and Deculus was a high recruit and has some starts under his belt.
quote:
WR will *likely be improved as a unit but jury is still out
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, not a given. Push.
Adding the #1 WR in the nation, a 5 star by some services WR that outperformed the #1 WR at The Opening, adding a 1100yd, 10 TD transfer and returning 5 other WRs that have PT is enough to be optimistic about.
You pretty much agreed the remainder of the OP's post so I'll not reply to those. Of course no one knows how these players will perform, but there is plenty to be encouraged about with this group. Denying it just illustrates a willful attempt to degrade anything LSU in order to maintain a narrative.

You know Derek, this post removes any lingering doubt about you and your shrimp boat captain orchestrating the coup that sent Les packing and LSU downgrading the HC position, aided and abetted by a clueless and gutless AD and a tightwad pansy University President.

you think a coup was needed for this to happen?
theres a reason he didnt sniff any open jobs this offseason.

I still cant believe how no one has pointed out that the 15th best class out of 120 teams is not a class in the top 10% lol. I understand the point he was trying to make, but that is just factually wrong lol

You don't do the English language very well huh? Never figured out what "comparing" means?
Pointing out the lord and savior lost two players who were committed to his school is in no way comparing him to the LSU head coach.
Just pointing out to the Lunatic Fringe that losing an OOS player that was never committed is not the worst thing that can happen.
Here you go, this MAY help.

I think the continual moving of the goalposts and mental gymnastics that go on to defend this shite just makes a lot of us laugh. No point arguing or bringing facts into it. We will just wait and see if any of these grand promises happen...so far it's not looking so good. But hey maybe year two will be totally different right?

The fact that you really think I work for LSU is funny. Typical Rantard I guess.

You really are a member of the Lunatic Fringe. You may be the president. Did you make up the coup that never happened to lessen the blow of Miles being shown the door? A person could never tell by your username.

You are mental. I'll probably be reading about you on the OT in the future. Just out of curiosity in case it comes up, what calibers of guns do you own? If you were going to go crazy and kill a bunch of people which gun or guns do you think you would use? Thanks !!!
