That's why it's hilarious to see some of our "fans" freaking out after a 9-4 season. We have a lot of talent and have serious potential. Geaux tigers.
we just fired a coach that was an elite recruiter,a great motivator that had questionable game day coaching
and hired
a worse and less successful recruiter, motivator, that has even worse game day coaching.
thats why people are worried.

Permit me to take your post a little farther on . . .
O flip-flopped (prefer a spread. prefer a pro).
O lied.
O folded and meddled.
O has no vision for this program.
O conducts lazy searches.
O hired Steve (nothing against Steve) when with the money he had to pay brought just about every OC in CFB into play.
O bungled the recruiting season.
O isn't some beginner who shows promise but just needs to work out a few kinks. His cement is already dry.

He was named the 2004 National Recruiter of the Year by The Sporting News and Rivals.com.
In 2011, he was named the Scout.com/FOXSports.com National Recruiter of the Year
In 2011, ESPNU/ESPN The Magazine named him the top recruiter in college football
In 2012, Sporting News selected him as the nation's No. 2 recruiter.
Rivals.com ranked him as the second-best recruiter of the previous 10 years (2002-11)

I don't remember seeing LSU run out of clock while inside the opponent's five yard line this past season. That is a huge improvement right there in game day coaching. LSU team scrambling to get final play in to win game, coach looking for a clean blade of grass to eat and clock runs to zero.
Do a quick google search for "les miles clock management":
A few Results you will see - the article titles and snippets seen from the search are listed:
"Les Miles Epic Fail - LSU vs. Ole Miss 11/21/09 (HQ) - YouTube"
Auburn game - "As same mistakes continue, Les Miles might be out of time at LSU - After this latest clock management blunder, Les Miles' clock might have finally run out, too. I know it was chaotic, but LSU wasted way too much time. Should've been sitting in formation, waiting to snap it…"
"Les Miles Blows Another Game with Poor Coaching and Clock - Penn State vs. LSU in the Florida Citrus Bowl, Joe Paterno vs. Les Miles, Class vs. Crazy. In that game, Les Miles shows why it's obvious he flunked Clock Management 101 in coach's school. Can at least one assistant coach please sit down and help Les Miles understand this area of coaching?"
"Coach Les Miles says LSU Tigers clock management gaffe addressed" - Then LSU runs out of time in his last loss at LSU.
This doesn't even include the Tennessee game where UT saved Les from another loss due to clock mismanagement. They had too many defenders on the field when the clock went to zero on LSU.

he has never proven he can recruit FOR HIS PROGRAM.
im not shocked that you dont know that there is a huge difference between recruiting for someone else's program and his own program.

if you followed football you'd know that even great nfl coaches do it.
but hey don't let facts get in the way of you posting football ignorant shite.

Of course O has less clock mismanagement. for the vast majority of his head coaching career, his team was to far behind for the end of the game to matter.
clock mismanagement isnt an issue when your team is getting curb stomped.

He's been doing it as HC at LSU for two signing classes. I'm surprised you don't know that. In those two classes he finished with the #7 class and the #15 class according to 24/7 composite rankings.

Not as often as it happened with LSU's former coach. Seems that the others tend to learn from their clock mishaps. Les again ran out of time as his team was celebrating victory and was fired the next day.

Of Eaux's six losses at LSU 3 of them were by 6 points or less. LSU never ran out of clock inside the opponents 5-yard line once. With Les you could pretty much count on it happening - just like in the last game he coached at LSU.
Les cost his team quite a few games because he could not figure out what the little LED numbers on the square boxes were for.

Yep, Les was a GREAT game-day coach !!!

bullshite. there is an article i just posted about how rampant clock mismanaged is in the nfl.

and my point still stands. at no point in ed orgeron's career has he proven he is an elite recruiter when he recruits for his program. im not saying he cant, I'm saying he hasnt.

kind of like how O hasnt proven he can win more than 2 conf games a season on a consistent basis?
Miles went to a far worse situation at Oklahoma State than o did at ole miss and miles had them winning,7,8,9 games while your dad has the worst win % ever at
a program filled with shite win %.
there isnt a single shred of evidence that points to O being any where near the coach miles was.
he may end up being better but not now.

here is an article about cfb clock mismanagement and it was written after miles was fired.
but hey by all means continue to shite on a coach that was extremely successful in an attempt to prop up an unqualified HC that has accomplished frick all at lsu and that took shots at lsu every chance he got.

and here is another one talkjng about how rampant it is
you should just stick to applying logic to some coaches and not o in an attempt to prop up O because you suck at this whole, " football discussion thing".

I know you are paid to defend Coach O on message boards and prop up the program. But why does the only way to defend Coach O is to bash Miles?
Miles did a good job here for over a decade. Not many coaches last a decade at one university. He became stale and reluctant to change offense. But to continually bash him in order to make another coach look good is not the way.

I was and am a big Les Miles fan. I know the second part of my post looks like I was bashing Les, but it was really meant to show the poster I was replying to that just like most of the time, he was once again WRONG.

How many of these accolades were earned while running his own program?
I'll give you an easier one, how many assistants during his tenure as HC have won such accolades?
He can sell other people's programs. His own, not so much.

Maybe.
Will there be another excuse if we stagnate or worsen? Saban, Kirby, Dabo all got better from year one to two.
