I know this is a bit of an odd question, but what are the board’s thoughts on how clean the water is in False River? As in would you recommend swimming in it often, eating fish caught in it, etc.

It might not be the cleanest body of water but I'm sure you have plenty of daily activities that could result in an easier way to get sick or die

It is not on DEQ's list of impaired waterways for fishing consumption and swimming advisories.

I’ve swam in it a bunch of times. Gotta strange color and smell but none of us ever grew an extra toe or had one dissolve, if that’s what you’re asking.

It has gotten way better since the requirement of MODAD units. Up until the 90’s, most houses had a septic tank or nothing at all and ran the discharge into the lake.

I grew up 15 mins from false river and have fished it hundreds of times. I’ve swam in false river 3 times my entire life and two of those three I got a virus from ecoli.

All the rain in the last couple of yrs should've flushed it out somewhat.
