Bachelor weekend on the bourbon trail booked!

I will let others give you recommendations for food in Louisville. I work in Frankfort and live near Woodford. Not really going to find comparable food options to Louisville. In Frankfort there's a decent Thai place called Thai smile, a newer Honduran place called mami monchitas that has garnered some attention and a slew of standard Mexican places. I think your best option in Frankfort is a place downtown called bourbon on main. Chef inspired food, a good bourbon list and decent tap selection, and a pretty casual atmosphere with a nice view of the river.

If you want to eat closer to Woodford, you could eat it Versailles but there's even fewer options than Frankfort. The Woodford inn, Versailles brewing company. If you were willing to drive another 15 minutes further Wallace station or heirloom in Midway are more your speed.

Your best option is to drive, although there are some bourbon tour buses that run out there. I've never done any of those tours.

ETA Louisville has a pretty solid Ethiopian place called queen of Shiba if you like Ethiopian. Old town liquor has the best craft beer selection to me. Against the grain brewery is pretty cool at night.

You can easily hit all 3 in one day if you manage your time right. We hit 3 in that area just missing the last tour at Woodford, and we took longer at lunch than we planned. I think we ate at that Bourbon On Main mentioned above. It was definitely a place in downtown Frankfort. Food was pretty good and they had a huge bourbon list. We just drank beer though. Go figure. If you're really pressed for time, there's a BBQ stand at Buffalo Trace that looked decent.

But they're all so close together, I'd order them in the preference you want to see them. Our day in that area we did..

1. Wild Turkey
2. Buffalo Trace
3. Lunch
4. Four Roses
5. Woodford

But we got to Woodford just as the last tour was pulling out so we missed it, so we only missed it by 5-10 minutes. If I remember right, Wild Turkey opened at 9, while all the other opened at 10, so we did it first that day. And Woodford's last tour was at 4 and 4 Roses was at 3, so we did Woodford last.

Agreed, though I also fell in love with the Russel's Reserve Rye there. The tour is largely forgettable.

The Old Crow distillery isn't far from there as well. We joked about going there to see how they made their rotgut. Not even sure if they offer tours.

I am, however, big Woodford and four roses fan. And buffalo trace is my everyday on the rocks after work stuff so been dying to go there.

I wouldn't necessarily leave it off. I just wouldn't bother with the tour or tasting. You can walk through their new tour building and check out some of the memorabilia and then check out the overlook. Thirty minute stop Max that's not far out of your way. If you have a few minutes to kill check it out.

Someone earlier mentioned willett. It's in bardstown which is probably too far out of the way for you to make everything. I missed their tour, but bardstown is a really charming town.

Highly recommend this stuff if you are into Rye whiskeys. It's the best I've had to date.
