Nah, that was a National Championship and a few SEC Championships that he won. An LSU fan would remember those.

No...it was dumbasses like you and others who kept cutting him slack for what he had done in the past.
His time was beyond up. Several posters continuously ranted about "if we let Les go...who are we gonna get that's better!!!!!"

Well we've found out that who we have is not any better. That doesn't mean Les should not have been shitcanned.
And essentially, that is what you are saying.

We traded one dolt for another. Surprised??? Not at all with the imbeciles that are in charge of our Athletic Dept.

I'm just not of the mindset that you should be afraid to take a chance when you have a coach that clearly needs to go.

this is ridiculous....I'm not on the O-Train anymore.....but I'm sure if we looked around.....we could do worse!

How? how could we hire a head coach with a worse resume than Ed Orgeron?

Any semi successful coordinator has a better resume than Ed Orgeron.

we hired a HC that has never in his life proven he can run a successful defense, let alone a successful program.

quote:

All parties involved need to be fired ASAP. Alleva/Fking/O....all of them.

agreed

quote:

But let's not act like there isnt any coaches out there worse than O.

Name a p5 coach with a worse resume than Ed Orgeron. Name a coordinator with a worse resume than Ed Orgeron.

Ed Orgeron has never proven he can win more than 2 conf games on a consistent basis.

the highlight of his entire head coaching career is beating a 4 loss auburn team.

quote:

Your take is that we are at the bottom of the barre

my take is ed orgeron is bottom of the barrel.
quote:

there is no way he wins the 9 games he does.

we played 1 power 5 conference team with less than 4 losses.

8 of our wins came against team with AT LEAST 6 losses.

9 wins against that schedule isn't anything.

Rick...at this point its hard to say.

Has he fked up some games?....yes (so did LM)

Has he underachieved?.....yes (so did LM at the end)

Has he meddled?.....yes (so did LM)

Has he mismanaged the clock?......some (but not to the degree LM did at times)

Has he squandered talent?......inconclusive (LM did IMO...look at the number of NFL players from LSU and ponder that ?)

Make absolutely no mistake....I want him gone
. But to say that he's WAY worse than Miles?....I don't see it yet.

Next year will be the acid test and should prove what we already know about CEO.....and then...hopefully...he'll be gone.

oh bullshite.

from 2005-2011 we had 3 west titles,2 sec titles,a national title, played in 2 national title games, and had 4 top 5 finishes.

nothing but that resume kept miles at lsu. Good God red.
if fans hired and fired lsu coaches ed orgeron would be fired.

That doesn't mean Les should not have been shitcanned.

agreed.

And essentially, that is what you are saying.

I didn't get that at all. I took it as saying his resume and accomplishments at lsu is what kept Miles at lsu a year or two too long.
quote:

We traded one dolt for another

Dolts don't have one of the most accomplished tenures in sec history?

and you I'd the nerve to say I'm negative when it come stop ed orgeron yet you do nothing but bash a lsu coach that actually took lsu to places it had never been?

hypocrite much?

Should we subtract wins because he drew a lucky hand this year?

Preach as you will....the man was a babbling dolt in front of the mike and on the sidelines frequently.

I still believe the talent he amassed (and he was a top-notch recuiter) masked his deficiencies where X/O's were concerned. We don't have to agree on this.

Miles was here 11 years and while he did have clock problems let's not act like miles had way more than other programs. sports illustrated recently had an article about how rampant clock mismanagement was in the NFL and even called out Belichik. BUT I AGREE MILES HAD MORE THAN MOST.
quote:

Has he squandered talent?......inconclusive (LM did IMO...look at the number of NFL players from LSU and ponder that ?)

inconclusive?

we lost to Florida team missing 7 starters.
we lost to a troy team that has had 1 NFL player drafted since 2012 and doesn't have a single player with a draft grade this year.
we got dump trucked by a perennial sec doormat

Miles' worst season ever at lsu is 1 game worse than the best season of ed orgeron' s head coaching career.

you do realize that Miles went to a far worse situation at Oklahoma State th O had at Ole miss, right? Miles proceeded to turn that program into a 7,8,9 win program while Ed Orgeron proceeded to have the worst tenure ever at program full of shite tenures.

He has an economics degree from one of the best universities in the country.

I've always admitted this. a better tactician wouldve had more success with the talent Miles had. Miles was an average at best game day coach but there are very few elite recruiters that are also great game day coaches.

I didn't say that. but let's not act like he won 9 games while playing a hard schedule.

IMO if you remove ed orgeron from the picture all together I think we win 10 games. it's clear his meddling took a toll on the team.

but agree to disagree brother. I respect your opinion.

And da troof...will set cha free!!!!

This is and was my only real beef with Miles during his 11 years.

We should and would have had more hardware on the mantle if we could have found someone to maximize what we had right here in our laps.

ok but let's not act like that better tactician ws automatically gonna bring in the same talent Miles had. regardless what people think programs don't recruit themselves.
that's my point.
imo we could've had more titles had miles hired a RPO OC and gotten out of his way tactically and focused on recruiting and running the program.

FTR
let's not act like an economics degree from Michigan isn't a great degree.
it's not like it's a communications degree from auburn.

not so,
Miles had the backing of OSU $, while O did not have such at Ole Miss.
A lot of stories have come out about the lack of support and even underhanded deals.

Time will tell, one year does not say much....one way or anotehr.

If Alleva didn't have his ducks in a row he should've held onto Les until he did.

Only the new staff gets your benefit of doubt.

Pretty sure you were in chorus belittling 10pt wins over SU, 20pt wins vs EMU and JSU, etc.
Enter the paradox of the O world: 9Ws are 9Ws.
Lose to Troy and diatribe is now Miles didn't leave enough talent with those #5 avg classes for Orgeron to compete with a #100 avg class.

you bashed the last regime for calling audibles from the sideline when 90% of cfb programs do that.

Again you are acting stupid....

I said the WHOLE team looked to the sideline to get the plays because they were confused on what to do next... THEN would burn A TO because they could NOT get the play off... And THEN they would come back AFTER the TO and AGAIN get to the LOS and the WHOLE team would AGAIN look at the sideline wondering what to do...

90% of teams in college football dont this... If you even think that you are more stupid than I thought...

YET ONCE O and Ensminger took over the WHOLE team did NOT have to look to the sideline....

FACTS ARE FACTS PUNKBOY........
