Useless meetings and other nonsense

Has anyone figured out how to get their boss to stop having useless meetings? We have meetings a few times a week and everyone but the boss seems to realize they're useless. He is completely clueless on everything and most of the meetings are just us explaining basic crap to him while he gives us blank stares. It holds everybody back from doing work.
In total, boss has about 20 meetings per week. It seems to be all he does. Complains that he works 60+ hours weekly but none of it actually leads anywhere.
Turnover because of boss is astronomical. Clueless but micromanages. HR DGAF apparently.
Any suggestions?

They try to justify their existence and salary

This sounds almost exactly what my sister's been bitching about recently with her new job. The guy asked her to make a powerpoint for their weekly meetings then didn't like the font on the slides, had to change the color, wanted descriptions for every table, etc. I suggested she survive 6 months to show at least some commitment to trying to solve issues then peace out

90% of all meetings could just be sent in an email.

Meetings at work are generally worthless and a waste of time. I used to work for a company that had 2 meetings a week. Same shite everytime. Seems like a way for these people to lie to themselves on how “teamwork” are filling the missing void of their boring jobs.

I really love it when i hear meetings called stupid names like a campfire, huddle, or tailgate.
I pretty much think, no!!! Just call it a meeting.
And please please please don’t say dumb crap in them like team and synergy

That's really not bad.
Where I work, we have a morning production meeting, weekly quality meeting, weekly safety meeting, bi-weekly cost meeting, bi-weekly process improvement meetings, and anything else that pops up during the week.

Meetings never produce anything in our unit. Boss routinely tells employees he refuses to learn software or processes because he's not capable of doing so. Why would you tell your team that? And at that point, stop micromanaging if you're stupid anyway. I've only worked here 3 months and I don't want to look like I'm job hopping but I can't imagine being here long term.

And the reason why you tolerate that is because the pay/benefits are amazing, right?

Meetings are generally not intended to be a Time for the boss to delegate work unless your boss is an extreme micromanager. Instead, the point is that everyone can hear what the rest of the group is doing to facilitate cooperation amongst the group. Also allows the boss to remain informed.
Three such meetings in a week is definitely too frequent.

the purpose of the meeting is so he can know what to say when his boss asks him whats happening with x,y, or z project/task
its not about of for you, its for him to show he is in control and doing his job as your "supervisor"

Is your boss’ name Michael Scott

Everyone around the office jokes that he is exactly Michael Scott. Spends meetings calling himself a "fearless leader" and "superstar director". Everyone just looks around the table and exchanges looks.

The honest answer is that your only option is to leave. HR isn't going to do anything and even if they did, it would probably get worse before it got any better.
This comes down to him not being able to delegate and trust his team while he orchestrates the bigger picture things. If he's down in the weeds with you and micromanaging it's for him to maintain some feeling of control. That's a hall monitor, not a leader.
You can try burying him with updates and information but you'll still be spending too much time on things that aren't essential to accomplishing whatever it is that you've been hired to accomplish. Go find a job in a healthier environment that will bring out the best in you before your attitude and work start to suffer.
