Yep, that is natural varnished with a satin finish.
Hell, they had me remove the new SS sink. Both want a copper sink now. WTF? This is a guest house/ my man cave.
Painting them is way out the question. This area has oak wainscoting, all trim oak and doors oak. All beams are oak too. Those are 8"x8"'s.

Copper sounds cool though.
To reclaim it, you’ll need to get some manly stuff in it. A couple of used lazy boys. And classic wall art like Dogs Peeing, Elvis on Velvet as well as The Matador on Velvet. Framed, of course.
Two TV’s that only get outdoors shows and This Old House reruns.
And a well stocked bar.
