That would allow the narrative to be spun as quickly as possible away from a great night for him. I truly think they were going to keep that in their pocket to release right away if the night didn’t go well.

According to that other thread you were in, the memo hasn't reached the President yet. So I don't think "anything happened" other than media folks got over jazzed over the memo being approved for release by the intel committee and hearing a rumor POTUS had the memo and was going to release it.
Or, maybe the President had the memo and is letting the SOTU eat up all the press for the next few days and will let it be released on the deadline.
I wouldn't release it after the positivity coming from the WH after the SOTU last night. Keep that momentum running high for a couple days. Release it next Monday.
