I appreciate Smith for who he is, but KC could be really good with Reid developing Mahomes. They have a nasty defense to go with young playmakers in Hunt, Hill and Kelce.

Any advantage to announce it early?

Why not keep it quiet and maybe keep getting offers? Could possibly get a better offer closer to the opening period
