Wow, this might be my favorite fish. I've never seen it on a menu before, but it was a special tonight at Diamond Grill. My wife ordered it, which really surprised me. Wish I had. It's now on my list with ling as an order no matter what if I see it offered.

They have it at charlie Gs in Lafayette if you're ever on this end

Not always but ask for it even if it's not a special

this is why you NEVER pass up floating debris or crab pot buoys when fishing offshore

Hate to say but every time someone tried to sell me triple tail in the restaurant it wasn’t triple tail. They might call it that but that’s not what it is. I have seen Swai and other asian fish sold as many other things.

When you see fresh grouper on a menu and it’s not 30 bucks you aren’t getting fresh grouper. And triple tail is harder to find than grouper at least here in Texas. I never heard anyone say man we just killed the triple tail today. I hear of someone catching them occasionally.

Fresh real triple tail is awesome though.

Tripletail, lemon fish, and pompano are probably my three favorite fish. Not sure which one I would rather have honestly.

I agree. Tripletail is one of my favorite fish. Right up there with Cobia, Pompano, Speckled trout, Snapper and Sheapshead. I do miss lake fish in the North too. Perch, Crappies, Walleyes, Sunfish, Bass...yum. Smelting off the Lake Michigan piers was fun in the wee hours of the morning. I love those things beer battered.

My least favorites are gonna be swordfish, amberjack and wahoo.
