The vast majority of rap is repetitive, self-indulgent, unintelligible rubbish.

You could say this on the surface level of any genre of music.

If anything, worse than rap. We're well into the second decade of this dreck, too

I remember when country music was 3 chords and the truth.

Childish Gambino has legitimate potential for an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony (EGOT). He was probably the most talented individual to take stage last night.

I cannot understand the love for Donald Glover. Seriously what is his appeal?

Verse 1]
A dirt road
A cold beer
A blue jeans
A red pickup
A rural noun, simple adjective

No shoes
No shirt
No Jews
You didn't hear that
Sort of a mental typo

[Pre-Chorus]
I walk and talk like a field hand
But the boots I'm wearing cost three grand
I write songs about riding tractors
From the comfort of a private jet

Tupac didn't even produce (or mix the hooks you like into his songs), and most of his songs were garbage album filler.

Kanye is one of the best samplers, and he actually raps on the songs he produces.

In terms of hip hop "talent", Tupac isn't high on the list.

The best what?

Dre is a better producer and musician

Biggie had better flow

Eminem has a more respectable family.

People swear to me that rappers like Kendrick Lamar are intelligent artists, but then you hear his acceptance speech and you realize... nah.

“Wuzzup? Hip hop, man. Yeah. For real. Jay Z for Prez!”

Our country is becoming so stupid.

I was actually kind of hoping that someone who can’t sing or play a musical instrument would win one of the world’s most prestigious music award. Oh well, maybe next year.

Kendrick Lamar actually writes all of his own music. I've been a musician for 20 years, that dude has some serious talent.
Most country/rock/pop artists DON'T write any of their own music and use backing tracks live...
The closet racism is hilariously obvious by many on this board.

the woman in daisy dukes throwing their butts up into the guys crotch, you didn't find that offensive?

I stopped watching the artist sing...it was a distraction off of them...

the woman who was last center stage, probably had perfect legs...but the whole thing was not tasteful

that's how I see it, sorry state of union you don't find that inappropriate...

I assume you're not a parent at this time of your journey

With that being said, I find it kind of bizarre that Bruno Mars won album of the year over Jay-Z, Kendrick or Childish.

It was a better album with a wider audience.

I don't think it was close between those. There are a few others that weren't nominated that I wish were there though.
