When 3 people are in front of you on the leaderboard you're not playing for 2nd

If anything good comes from this selfish act, it will be the PGA enforcing the shot clock with a stroke penalty.

He's made $21+ million from career earnings on the Tour alone. It's not like he's struggling for cash. He even said afterwards he was trying to put himself in the best situation to win.
I get that it was windy, but at some point you just have to suck it up and hit the ball. Hopefully the Tour does take notice of this and start enforcing slow play. JB's a notoriously slow player. So are guys like Andrew Loupe, Kevin Na, Jason Day, Jordan Spieth, etc. But the Tour lets them play slow, so why would they change anything?
Hopefully this starts to speed up golf rounds. Granted, the double tees and Torrey didn't help yesterday, but I've seen twosomes take five hours on tour. Just makes it a far less watchable product.

That drive off of 18 was the first time he had hit the center of the club face in 6 or 7 holes, still no excuse, play for the win, bills can’t be that tight with his success on tour unless he’s an idiot to begin with.

If he strategically played slow to try to bring down the competition then shame on him, but if he plays slower than other people just because that's just how he plays, then the people playing with him just have to take that into consideration.
It's a part of the groupings. Everyone plays different. Just because you play quickly doesn't mean the other players in the group need to be just as fast as you are.
If him playing slow was causing problems, someone should have stepped in. I'm not saying slow play is acceptable at all, but it's an officials job to step in there and do something about if it's an issue.
Slow play really shouldn't be a factor in the game today but it keeps coming up.

This was a little more than typical slow play.

I really started following him after all of his medical issues. But after that shite he pulled on 18 yesterday, I've lost all respect for him. Day was in at -10 and he stated he was trying to win? Correct me if I'm wrong but dude was -8 down 18, if you're trying to win you go for the green to tie or albatross(which would've won the tourney). You don't lay up. Ignorance on his part. Kudos to Noren and Palmer for acting like professionals in that situation.

I honestly didn't catch much of the final round so I didn't see anything. If it was that serious someone should have done something. That's unfortunate.
What really gets me is, if Palmer was hitting first, there really shouldn't have been an excuse for him not having his decision on laying up or not. It's not THAT complicated.
I can get if he waits a minute or two on wind or other condition needed to go for it, fine. But if you have a whole turn ahead of you and STILL can't make up your mind in almost 5 additional minutes.. that's pretty hard to defend.

can’t imagine the frustration when you’re playing with that dude.
Guess that’s why the entire tour, with the exception of Jimmy Walker, was pissed. Walker tweeted something like ‘Keep doing your thing.’
Jimmy is right. Holmes doesn’t have to take any shite for what he did. What’s 4 minutes at the end of 4 days when you’re talking about the entire tournament on the line? He did nothing wrong, technically. Was is trashy? Yes. Am I going to do it this weekend to my friends just for fun/to frick with them? You bet.

If you went trashy with me like that, I'd whistle in you back swing. Without a doubt.

I’d scream “get in the hole” in the middle of your putts.

Here's a question for the Tour to answer.
If he's in one of the final groups on Sunday afternoon, why wasn't a rules official with the group?

I’ll wake you up at 4am and not tell you a joke, what the weather is, or what happened that day in history. Then make you wait for me to decide to lay up.
Deal with it.

I’ll do it, and you’ll like it.
Go to bed old man. You gotta be up early tomorrow.
