Mercedes AMG Driving Academy (or other performance driving schools)

I know Porsche has something similar with their Porsche Driving Experience program. BMW also has the BMW Performance Center. I'm curious if anyone here has done this and what their experience was like.
You go there and you can either make it an all day thing or stretch it out over two days. One day is about $2k and the two-day program is $4k-$5k. You can either bring your car or use their cars - either way you'll be using their cars if you want to drive multiple models. You run races, timed laps and walk through different maneuvers with instructors. There is one in Connecticut that looks like it'd be a good time if I went for a couple days.
It's kind of nerdy but it seems like it would be fun. There are just a lot of way you can't push the car on the road. Hitting top speeds is one thing (165-185) but driving performance cars is all about how you maneuver in and out of turns (driving lines, braking, hitting the apex, etc.) and unless you want to Paul Walker yourself or trash your car, you're not going to do this on your local city streets.
I could track the car down in Atlanta, but I'd prefer to get some pointers first, and get a little experience before going out there and looking like a frick boy.
Anyone done this or something similar?

I've done the two-day BMW one in Spartanburg, SC. A friend of mine bought a few BMW's over the years and they offered him and a friend (lucky me) the two day school for free. Had to pay for flights, but, they put us up in a hotel for two nights and gave a food credit.
It was very fun and we got to drive all kinds of BMW's, including all M models at that time.

I worked for Benz, BMW, & Audi
The best of the 3 was the BMW performance driving school. We were ripping and roaring around the track in M5 (V10) model. Was an absolute blast
Another good one is the petty racing school @Texas motor speedway

If you go to the two-day school I've heard they give you a voucher discount for another Benz purchase that can go on top of the manufacturer given discounts.

I've done the Audi Driving Experience, which is basically an invitation-only one-day sales pitch. They send letters to people their marketing folks think might want to spend $75k and up on a car and set up courses at a local large parking lot. For me it was the lots at Fed Ex field.
It was a total blast, you get to drive their lineup (including the R8) pretty much flat-out and it didn't cost me anything other than my day.
But I'm not the type to blow that kind of money on a car so I doubt I'll get another invitation. If you do, go.

Damn...never heard that. I’ve heard the reverse though.
If you own an AMG you can get a discount for any of the driving programs. You just enter your VIN when signing up.
Either way, I’ve only heard good things from people who have done it. It seems to be a cool experience.

I know 100% Lexus does it.
RC-F forums a guy bought a new RC-F for 20k off using the voucher plus 7k holiday discount plus negotiating.
I know a bud irl that went and received a discount voucher a year or so ago. Not sure if Benz still does it.

If you want the luxury experience go to a factory school. If you really want to learn to drive, go to Bondurant out in NV. That is where the government sent us. It’s a real race car / speed driving school.

I am by no means an OT Baller, but I drive a Cayenne because it's the most fun car that I can fit toddlers in. Anyway, I got an oil change at the Porsche dealer and a couple weeks later they invited me (and everyone else who got the email blast - first few to respond got the spots) to the Porsche Driving School in Alabama - totally free except for my hotel room - even including a dinner. Each dealer gets allocations and I guess their turn came up and didn't have enough ballers to fill out the roster. I couldn't go because it was on about 3 days notice, but I will next time. You drive every version of the 911 and whatever other Porsche you want. An $1800 trip all for getting an overpriced oil change.
