I’m moving to New Orleans in a few months. I’ve got friends in Bacchus and Hermes and Endymion. A couple others that I can’t remember. An enormous one and one featuring a sea theme and trident.
I’m an LSU alum. Some are incredibly big. What are the “fun, laid back, but still a solid group of people? Are there any left that aren’t huge?
I know this has been discussed before. But, the season is here.
Also, can someone give me a King Cake recommendation besides Meches? Or is that the way to go?

What krewe you are doesn't really matter as much as what float you're on. Find a group you like and try to join their float.
Meches ain't in New Orleans. Go to hi do, Haydel's, or randazzos.

if you have friends in some parades, try to get on their floats

I will try to help you, join the one your boys are in. It will be a lot more fun riding with guys you know, then by yourself. So you have friends in all of the ones you mentioned, the most fun, Bacchus and Endymion are probably a wash. I am in Endymion, its super fun, extravaganza is a complete shite show. The most active/involved is probably Thoth, they have multiple parties throughout the year. Endy only has a few meetings, no clue on Bacchus.
