I don’t think Ducre will ever materialize into the player some people think he’s capable of being.

I will gladly eat crow if I’m wrong , he’s got all the measurables but I hear he’s quite soft, and isn’t very agile. Great strait line speed though, and big.

This guy is not a college RB, much less an SEC RB. If he cracks the top 3, we are in bad bad shape. Great athlete, just not an LSU back

I disagree , Queen would be better than Ducre. But Queen seems to be a better Sam backer imo.

I hope you are right, but this is all conjecture.

The Man is just a great athlete... Just like Devin White, he played both sides of the ball in HS.
He'll play where the team needs him and I'm sure he'll do us proud.. Go Patrick and

I believe LSU has adequate LB depth, so moving Queen to running back next year can be done without hurting the defense.

I can see it if that's what the coaches want to do. I haven't watched a ton of film on Queen, but I remember actually being quite impressed with him for a HS RB. He had more speed than what I was expecting. He seems to be faster than Curry. Only time will tell what the coaches will do. If Queens turns heads as a RB in practice, then I can see them utilize him there. Its certainly not a far stretch.

Queen is not needed at RB, people are pushing the panic button for no reason at all. LSU has good, quality RB's that will be alright. Ducre can be moved to halfback if needed as mentioned, that kid hasn't run for LSU at all except in practices. He was a really good RB in HS that I wouldn't mind seeing in the rotation.

Who are these people pushing the panic button? Dave Aranda? Don’t you think he would be fighting to keep Queen at LBer if he believed Queen was going to be a top LBer?

The coaches have seen all returning running backs in practice and in scrimmages. Same goes for the returning LBers.

Let go. When it comes to fitting players into positions, they have more information than just the high school highlights you seem to be relying on.

I agree but I suspect getting him some reps is a "just in case" kind of thing. Injuries at that position are a reality and as many carries as our backs get we have been damn lucky.

I'm not going to look for it, but I seem to remember that some thought Brossette was better than Guice in HS. He 's also looked pretty good in limited carries before and after he got hurt. He's had a couple of fumbles, but that could just be an anomaly.

With Brossette, Fournette, Edwards-Helaire, Ducre, Curry and Provens, I suspect at least a couple will step up.

Man queen runs angry and hits everything in his way.I say put the best man up in every situation.that's coaching! If the man can fight for every yard like Guice, then let him.

What is Queen’s current weight? Moving Queen to RB could be an effort to add size to that position.

LF7, Guice, and D. Williams were bigger than any RB on the roster next year. Brossette will be close, but Guice looked to be 10-15 lbs heavier this past season.

Ducre could also be an option in certain situations.

Guice had a higher composite rating but both were four-stars.

The point is that he hasn't had a lot of chances so maybe we should wait and see before we write him off as a bust.

And some people thought Guice was better than Fournette. Those people would also be wrong.

A lot of dumb things are said on this site.

There are a couple of things that come into play here. Lack of depth being the biggest. This spring LSU has just three scholarship RBs on the roster, Edwards-Helaire, Brossette, and Fournette. Queen would give them four. Queen rushed for just under 1500 yards as a senior in high school and caught another 255 yards in passing so it’s not like he never played the position before. He’s 6’1”, 220 which would make him the biggest back currently on the roster. All that being said it just might be a spring experiment and he lands back at LB in the fall.

ETA: Tae Provens is an early enrollee and will also participate in spring drills.

Queen is a great athlete and can play RB. This is about replacing Williams.
