Even CNN/NYT are in part saying Democrats are to blame for this unnecessary shutdown.

Even CNN "polls" are saying people don't want to shut it down due to illegal aliens, especially when the program doesn't end until March.

I'll give them credit, they are trying to spin this a "win," but it CLEARLY isn't working. They screwed up on this issue.

TRUMP will milk this out w/ tweets and make Schumer beg for a deal (or deportation WILL happen). TRUMP will get more of what he wants.

The only way I think it actually hurts them is if people realize that life generally goes on as is without any noticeable impact when the government shuts down since they are the bigger government party, as opposed to the not quite as big, but still big, government GOP.

Trump is the only leader who has publicly advocated for a shutdown.

Graham-Durbin compromise would have passed easily. Trump was for it before he was against it.

The political instability of Trump and his administration are hurting governance.

This is going to be a split with no winners in Congress or the White House. Two opposing wants of the American people == protect the Dreamers and not shut down government. It is a wash.

Remember-if facts don't matter and you are not results oriented, and measure success by how much you hysterically emote, and you have a built-in cheering section in every corner of American culture,---you can probably hold out a long time before reality dawns on you.

So clever...another idiot who wants to act like he doesn't know Senate needs 60 votes.

You'll also be one of the first screaming if the Senate votes to abolish the filibuster rule. Idiot.

Just watching cable news for about an hour and I've seen no less than three, well made visual aids blaming Trump for the shutdown. I work in marketing and it takes a few days to get graphics like that produced.

Anyone buying what the dems are trying to sell today are beyond hope.

Eta. Schumer is jumping in front of every camera in dc right now with his blame Trump message. The spin is on, feeding fresh talking points to the networks. Dems are losing the narrative.
