Sell me on IMac vs PC

My computer had motherboard fried. Put another one in and it fried again. Looking to replace it. Need something capable of running photoshop and lightroom without any issues. I'm a photographer and this is mostly what I'll be doing on it.
I've been looking at the 27in base imac but can't decide on it.
Thanks for any input.

If you are a photographer, graphic designer, or software engineer the iMac should be an easy decision IMO

If you have an iPhone the iMac is a no brainer.

Sounds like you have a bad power supply or a short connecting to the motherboard to the case.
You will definitely get more bang/power for the buck with a PC but if are already familiar with Macs and have other Apple products then the iMac might be a good option. We just prefer building our own PCs with high quality components and replacing parts as needed over time.

Mac are overpriced and you can't upgrade or modify them. Better machine for luddites.

I have an iPhone, a PC and a Mac. I love Apple but I prefer my PC of the two.

I had 3 PC laptops previous to my MacBook Air. The main reason I like the Mac more, is the quality of the hardware. All my previous laptops started falling apart after two years. Whether it was keys popping off, screens going out, or other random pieces just breaking without treating it poorly. Each of those PCs got a virus at some point as well while running anti virus software.
I have a decent amount of PC knowledge, but I have no problem stating that Macs are for idiots like me that don’t know or are just too lazy to keep a PC up and running properly. I’ll gladly pay the Apple tax to have a quality product that will far outlast a PC.
If you have the knowledge base and patients to keep a PC running, then get a PC.

That might have been true ten years ago but now you can get a PC that is every bit as good for this sort of work. It'll cost less too.
IMO it comes down to what you're used to working with.

I was given a used 2011 Mac Pro and after I upgraded ram to 8gb and installed an SSD it’s unreal how snappy it is

That's almost always user error by this point. I've been running PC's for over 20 years and have had exactly one infection.

You run a medical practice?

Honestly just a personal preference. I've always been a PC guy but Macs are great computers.
I've never had any problems with my PC computers and they are 1/2 the price.

How much did you spend on the PC laptops, and what life experience of yours gave you the expectation that a cheaper product should be as well built as a more expensive one?
