Saban is going through coaches like crazy.
To even the playing field lets see Saban run things by himself. Get rid of all his coaches. Im not sure he needs them. He has won with many different combos.
Of course - Im not sure where everyone else would find their new head coaches to hire.

It's system football, same as the Patriots. At this point, it's just a factory of success.
Still needs competent people working for him though.

Exactly. Coaches are lining up to put that on their resume. It adds a ton of credibility to your name as a coach

Nothing new.
A couple yrs ago someone interviewed several of Saban's ex assistants and they all said the same thing. It is like joining the military. You kiss your wife and family goodbye and go to work for a couple years and you detach. Big career step builder.

Jim Mora covered this the other day. He spoke about belichick as well and it being a system with belichick and Saban.
They have a way of doing things and doesn't change. Said if u walk into the Bama equipment room and a trainer is folding a towel, ask him what he is doing. He won't say I'm folding a towel, He'll say I'm helping us win a national championship. Same with belichick. Said belichick, like Saban feeds the team the same pregame meal every week. Has a certain temp the food is served at. Shite like that.
Mora said the biggest thing with Saban is every assistant has a crystal clear defined role. Every assistant is told what he wants, when he wants it and how he wants it and there is ZERO deviation or he will lose his shite on you. Said that's the biggest thing Saban picked up from belichick. Everything in the patriots and at Alabama,.... everything.....goes through belichick and Saban. They sign off on it all.

Oh for frick’s sake. This is the stupidest goddamn coach speak nonsense ever uttered and it’s embarassimg that some fans pick it up and parrot this shite like it’s actually reality.
Alabama is the dynasty they are because they have 4 and 5 stars three deep at every position. Yes they are extremely well coached and disciplined but they are simply better players and there are more of them.
They overwhelm the opponent and it doesn’t hurt that even when they lose they still get the benefit of the doubt EVERY SINGLE YEAR.

Even if true, which I doubt, so fricking what. That is typical sports superstition bullshite and for OCD antisocial nut jobs like Belichick and Saban it’s just another quirky thing to throw to the media and fans and watch them break it down like it’s some secret recipe for success.

Again, utter nonsense.
Saban hasn’t worked for Belichick in over 20 years. Did he not follow that example at Michigan State, LSU, or Miami??
Saban was successful to varying degrees at all of those stops, but he didn’t become the greatest until he ended up at a place like Alabama where he could build up advantages and maximize them at a place where he had pretty much free reign from SEC oversight and even NCAA supervision with Emmert running the show.
He is the best, Alabama is a historic dynasty, but he isn’t some master architect that could duplicate the kind of success anywhere other than in Tuscaloosa.
Same with Belichick. He is the best, but he was also very fortunate that all the other 31 teams passed on Tom Brady six times and he ended up in the perfect situation and the two of them fed each other’s success to unprecedented heights.
The Process my arse.

And there it is. You should have just got to your point.
Oh, and you forgot referees.

Well it is very draining and even though you win, the long days and attention to detail in every part isn't for everyone, but you trade it for the resume builder, first hand look at the way it's done, and obviously the championships.
Some of his coaches especially who have went on to be HC's have tried to bring that approach (I coached with one of them at his opportunity) but if you don't buy in and it's not working, then you count down the days. Where I was at, it definitely didn't work and GA's even counting down the days to get out of there and 2 left coaching football because they developed a hate for college football even after playing D-1. Saban is good at "having his hands on everything" while not actually doing everything if that makes sense, where some coaches and support staff thinks he micro manages and does everything. He just holds everyone accountable and to supreme standards or you are gone or embarrassed in some way. Many can't handle that if never involved with it, but with Kirby being around it for so long that is why Georgia is becoming elite again because he stuck around for the process unlike other assistants who are 1-2 years and done.
And of course Bama low balls money to many of the staff excluding the assistant coaches and some staff because people will come regardless to be apart of it, but paid once offered a position somewhere they take it!

Very simple. It doesn't matter who the coaches are. When you have more talent than every team you play, you are going to win a very high % of the time.
You guys put to much stock in coaching. Is it important? yes. It's 70% talent 30% coaching. Saban is the greatest recruiter of our time. 12 consecutive #1 classes. Give him Vandy talent and he will lose as much as he wins. It's why he isn't successful in the N.F.L. the talent difference isn't a significant difference.

Low balls? Pretty sure everyone pays virtually the same for support staff personnel.
If we are all trying to outspend people on GAs and analysts, then this things has officially gotten out of hand.

The stupidity in these threads are comical.

Not necessarily and you obviously not sure how it works especially the behind the scenes personnel, and it isn't a knock towards the program or university and actually smart, but why do you think so many coaches and universities have brought up the number of staff for Bama? Cause positions are basically created for these people who are willing to work for next to nothing to be apart of program. GA's are limited, but support staff isn't. It's smart on Sabans and Bamas part because of the extra detail from recruiting, analysts, etc. But not everyone can make that sacrifice for more than a year or two because they have to get paid well as some point as the payoff, the reason Bama loses a lot assistants every year

Well maybe others should up their game. Seems like you either want to win or you don't.
