Wouldn’t melt at all. Freeze gets pass happy and forgets he has a running back. Saban would definitely alter Freezes approach

Alabama is a championship caliber program that takes winning variously seriously. LSU, on the other hand, isn't.
We want to keep up with appearances, but our administration has obviously shown that we are willing to cut corners and not do what it takes to retain the best available staff.

What would be nice is if Freeze is hired as an analyst at Bama, Ed O fails royally and gets fired, Aranda gets promoted to HC and hires Freeze as his OC after his 1 year off and 1 year as an analyst "rehabilitating".
That's exactly what we are trying to do now, have the best DC and OC, and this way, we can just not have some idiot making $4M a year to tell us bullshite and kick field goals from the 1 inch line.

I've melted way way way too much the past year when it comes to LSU football so honestly if this were to happen, I wouldn't really melt much. I'm way too used to it.

Saban has the sports media in his pocket and underwear. They will craft a story to make Freeze look like mother Theresa. Of course if it were any other SEC school the Commish may not allow.

well he was given a 1yr show cause penalty which prevents him from being a head coach but not an assistant. I do think that's dumb though, it should prevent him from doing any coaching.

This. I've been entirely too upset with the rollercoaster that is LSU football. Starting from the Miles being fired and then not fired/Texas A&M fiasco - everything associated with LSU has been fricked up.
The idiots that oversee, run, and manage the program have shown time and time again that they are incapable and inept.
It's a circus show that I'm distancing myself from. Of course I want the best for the program, but given its current state, I know better than to get too invested in it.

we've heard repeatedly that the SEC would not approve of anyone hiring freeze in any capacity this year.
do the same rules apply to saban and Alabama?

All you can do is tip your cap for the way Saban runs his program. Hopefully someday soon, we will have a competent head coach again.

Motha Frickin THIS. LSU would be EVISCERATED for hiring Freeze - by the press, the SEC, everyone (and somewhat rightfully so). But if Saban does it, he'll be portrayed as the glorious genius BebeJesus; it's going to be a fricking redemption story!
Hugh Freeze is one of my least favorite coaches in college football... I hope Alabama hires him, it'll bring my loathing of them to an entirely different level.

Alabama is no longer our competition. We compete with Ole Miss, Miss St and Auburn. We aren't in the same class as Bama and shouldn't be concerned about them.
