What’s the best car to get if you DGAF about what you drive except you want something not embarrassing to roll around in.

Basically what’s the best combination of looks/reliability/ride under $30k. Plan on driving it to the ground.

We just bought a VW Golf. Wild buy another tomorrow if we could. Gets over 30 mpg.

I drive an old beater truck that won’t depreciate any further. Let’s me maximize cash flow for investing.

One day, I won’t need to invest anymore and may get something newer.

So I vote for an old truck.

Accord looks to be low 20s and gets 30+ miles per gallon. Seems like a faie choice. I too am trying to figure out options at different price points of 20, 30, or 40k. Leaning to going the lower cost route myself bc I would prefer to invest the difference.

Seconded (or Thirded) the Accord/Camry vote.

$30k will get you a nicely appointed 4 cyl. version of either car.

Specifically I favor the Accord Sport model with speed sensing.

Kind of in the same boat as op. The accord has some nice features that come standard. The sport has adaptive cruise control and apple car play, which is pretty awesome for a car under $30k.

Going to be hard to find something OT-approved if your budget is only $30k a month.
