Well, Obama had a fetish for wanting brown people in this country. And as president, he had the right to a preference. Why can't Trump have a preference for people who actually have something to contribute to this nation?

I know plenty of African doctors

which is kinda the problem

when you make wide, sweeping generalizations about entire countries or continents, you generally make yourself look retarded

God forbid he wants successful, educated immigrants who can actually contribute instead of leeches.
What makes you so sure that potential immigrants from shitholes would be leeches? They have probably worked harder all their lives for what they have than any of us have.

So what makes those countries shitholes? Is it the air? The water? The predatory behavior of faux charities such as the Clinton Foundation? Or could it be that they are full of shitty people?

Let's switch the language and use 'dysfunctional culture'.

I would say that just because you live in a dysfunctional culture does not mean that every individual in it is dysfunctional.

Those who are trying to escape dysfunctional cultures are likely to be functional individuals and will readily agree that the culture they are trying to leave is dysfunctional.

So, this gets back to an immigration policy that should screen for functional individuals regardless of race or national origin.
We should take in people with a demonstrated level of skill and ability that have a reasonable likelihood of making a positive contribution.

We are already perfectly capable of providing a home-grown supply of dysfunctional people and don't need to import those.

I disagree.
I don't want lower class people coming here. It's simply a supply and demand issue. We have waaaaay too many lower class people here now.

43% of immigrants to the U.S. have a bachelor's degree or higher (compared to 33% of the overall American population).

Nigerian-Americans have a household income well above the American average.

Are you in favor of increasing the inflows of well-educated and affluent immigrants from Nigeria?

I don’t care; we are broke. If we continue taking on people who live off my taxes we are screwing my children. Call me insensitive, hell call me a racist; the truths is a bitch.

Why would you assume he was thinking of race instead of education and skill sets? It's because you are racist as frick and project your racism. Classic dem tactic. Accuse others of doing what you have already done.

I don't even assume he actually said it, and I'm sick of the constant Trump bitchfest but I thought it was a pretty valid op and not twisted at all.

He said 'merit-based' immigration/opportunity. Send us your best and they will have an opportunity to shine on the biggest stage. We can take 5 star talent because we have 5 star coaching, facilities, etc. If you want to take in 1 stars then you're likely gonna get 1 star results.

Immigration is recruiting the best and brightest. The act of picking up and moving to another country across the ocean is a huge test of someone's ambition and work ethic. It's such a powerful positive selection that even if you're a racist / "race realist" / "biological essentialist" or whatever PC term you use for the skull shape truthers, you have to explain how, for instance, Nigerian-Americans kick the shite out of both Americans and Nigerians when it comes to income and educational attainment. Most of this is incorrect, perhaps all of it.

Why do you want other people over here that can’t support themselves without government assistance? That’s why anchor babies are a problem? What is wrong with helping Americans first?

Let me ask you this, if your city council decided they wanted to go into the shitholes in the inner city and begin incentivizing the residents there to move into your neighborhood, how would you feel? Would you be all for it? Would you welcome them with open arms or would you do what people like you always do? NIMBY!! NIMBY!! Not in my backyard!! That is essentially our immigration policy on a small local scale.

Please show me the statistics on all of the legal Haitian and African immigrants that receive welfare.

Jesus Christ, people.

We don't need large numbers of immigrants, period. But I have no problem with an increase in the inflow of well-educated and affluent immigrants from Nigeria as a percentage of total immigrants. Why would I?
