You now have to believe that O intentionally tanked Canada, so that he could hire Steve?

That's a staggering thought. No wonder Canada was ANGRY

Because we know he said he learned at Ole Miss to let his coaches coach. But today he said that he ALWAYS thought Steve was the right guy. And we know from early in the year he stepped into Canada's use of personnel, and his game plan

So its not that far of a reach to think he did it on purpose, in an effort to drive Canada away. Just like when he said Canada was looking for HC jobs, when Canada said he didnt

He didnt really let Canada coach as much as he should have.

On the other side, Canada is a douche and has a short fuse.

Was just going to say, you could also bring the fair criticism that it seems pretty apparent Ed wasn't looking for a way to keep Canada and was fine with him getting booted because he always preferred Ensminger.

Which is not what he said he was going to do.

And that's why there was no job search for OC

So in reflection, Ed was forced to find a top flight OC. He tanked that hire all year, so that he could get rid of him. And he interviewed no one to replace him

Scary as hell

Do you honestly believe that O would stoop to backstabbing, lying, and meddling to get his way? That's apparently his standard operating procedure.

At the press conference O basically said he hired Canada to satisfy the fan base, when he really wanted Ensminger all along. It's not surprising that things turned out the way they did.

I can only guess what's going on behind the scenes. I can, however, tell you that Orgeron has lied multiple times about his intentions for the program and those lies are what led to his hiring.

I wonder what would happen if I lied on my resume, and then again during a job interview, and my superiors found out about it....

so tell me this.... Why couldn't O have researched this during the interview process with Canada? Not to hard in the small world of coaching to find out if he plays well with others.

OR did O know that Canada was a loose cannon and would melt down if he messed with him? Then he could fire Canada and promote who wanted all along.

the second option is giving Orgeron a lot of credit for being smart. and the first makes me think he was lazy and didn't do a good job.

You'd be pissed too if your bumbling idiot of a boss wasn't letting you do your job but making you take all the blame about the shitty product.

I told my brother this exact same stuff earlier today. He was forced to bring someone in. Esminger has brought lip service this whole time. SE knew he wasn't gonna get serious consideration first time around so he just said "aw shucks I really don't want the job." No one is gonna turn down the chance to make probably twice your salary. He wanted the fricking job.

O basically told Alleva he would try it his way knowing full and well and he didn't want Canada. So then when it doesn't work out he can tell Joe "I tried it your way and this is where it got us"

Canada is a pain, but he was given a raw deal.

O is a phony and everyone should have seen through it from the very beginning. Guy doesn't care about LSU. Just wanted a nestegg where he could sail off into the sunset.

ETA: O didn't sacrifice the season. He probably thought talent would win enough games, and he probably tried giving the Offense a shot for a minute, but after the MSU game O panicked and that was the end of the Canada expiriment. Canada was forced on him.

I managed people for 40 years and yes, one of the best ways to prove that you know what you are doing is to hire people and then do everything possible to sabotage their performance.......to ensure that they fail.

Do you folks even think through a thread before you start one?

I don't think Orgeron hired Canada. I think Alleva forced Canada on Orgeron.

Whats absurd, and unheard of, is to fire the hottest name in coaching after going 9-3 in his 1st season (should have been 10-2, if O stays out of the Troy game).

It just shows you that O didn't want him, or want him to succeed

Ed thought Arandas D would be strong enough to get him a 10 win season. O misplayed that, badly
