Is this something that will give any future offensive recruits some pause? I know we're still hopeful for a QB recruit this year, so we HAVE to bring in a QB coach, right?
Would obviously be something other schools would use to negatively recruit against LSU.

I'm sure recruits would be thrilled to join a 60 year old who's never been a successful OC even once in his life

Great idea, let’s post this on the recruiting board that recruits read and plant ideas in their heads with national signing day in a month.

Given that Canada's offense statistically was not better than Ensminger, no. In fact, it might be more concerning that Canada's offense couldn't make a yard in critical short yard situations.

However I'm still hopeful that we'll land a highly regarded OC before signing date.

247 shows him as our best recruiter at #15 nationally

only other LSU coach who is near his rank is Dennis Johnson at #36

Dave Aranda is ranked #295

Matt Canada is #343

we need coaches who can recruit in the worst way

As for this years recruiting class, we are only after one other offensive player, Jamar Chase, who is expecting to commit this weekend. So, no I don't see any immediate impact on recruiting. Personally, he did a great job last year. Coach O is the head coach and he actually wanted to hire him last year but fell victim to the pressure of hiring a so called big time offensive coordinator. Let Coach O ride or die with Ensminger

None recruits knew it was going to be Ensminger two weeks ago. Marshall knew about it.

Of course it will. It will have a negative impact on LSU, it's students, it's fans, the entire frickin state. Ensminger doesn't possess the creative aptitude necessary to coordinate a successful offense against the likes of Saban U or any accomplished DC. If LSU would of had Canada in 2011, theres no way they lose to Saban u in the NC game. Orgeron wants more control over the offense without it being obvious so someone else can take the blame when the offense is unproductive. Just like the Troy game when he stuck his nose in there and screwed the pooch in the first half. Most kids want to play for a NC. You won't win a NC, or play for one, if your offense is predictable. And with Ensminger at the helm, that's what you will get. LSU deserves better, the fans deserve better, the state deserves better. A program the level of LSU should have the best money can buy. No excuse for settling for anything else. O's ego and micro management is going to take LSU where he took Ole Miss. Maybe he's got his eyes on an accomplished OC. But, if he promotes Ensminger, it's back to the latter Miles era.
