re: So...we’re blaming O because A&M is paying 3 million+ to Aranda?

No. LSU is supposed to have a head coach so great that he can develop and train up great coordinators if needed.
O has never been a coordinator. He doesn’t know how to do it and is unable to train others how.

I blame O for taking the job he knew he was completely unqualified for.

Yes. Get out the wallet and match it.
We want to be an elite program, and that's the cost of it nowadays. We have the best DC in the country. You keep him, especially to spite an inter-division rival.
Letting him go over money is a total cheapskate, bargain bin move. You're basically saying to the rest of the country that we are fine being a mid-tier SEC team. That message resonates most strongly with recruits.

This is an example of an emotional question that totally misses the point.
LSU embarked on an atypical strategy when it hired Orgeron. The strategy was to hire a marginal (at best) head coach (from a market perspective) and surround him with expensive, high quality assistants.
The strategy would suggest that LSU thought it could find a very good CEO type of HC for cheap and, combined with the talent at the coordinator spot, put together a total staff that rivals the best.
It really wasn't a terrible idea. If you think you can do a good job finding the "cheap" coach, and you think it's easier to find coordinator talent than HC talent, it at least makes sense.
However, if your HC hire is a problem...or, you simply can't keep the coordinators on staff (this was the obvious issue raised by many), you could end up having the worst of both worlds...a below average head coach and always chasing the coordinator talent.
Aranda moving on would be an example of the strategy failing. Keep in mind that Aranda was the single highest paid assistant. He wasn't underpaid. Yet, he's still being poached.
Orgeron is a product of this strategy. He's not a typical head coach with a typical staff structure. It's not Orgeron's fault that Aranda was offered 3M. It's Orgeron's fault for being Orgeron. He has the position he's fairly cheap and fit the model.

Damn, if A&M has the money to offer Jimbo a ridiculous salary and 3 mil to Aranda they must be working with the Los Zetas cartel to launder money.

I blame alleva. He knew O has never coordinated either side of the ball. He knew we would need elite coordinators because LSUs head coach is not capable of coming up with his own plan for an offense or defense. He knew O had to have the best. With being the best coordinator suitors will come for them and are willing to pay for them. Alleva knew if we didn’t have the money to keep them then he should’ve hired a competent head coach.

Bingo.
And this

To me, was the most likely way the scenario played out no matter what. Even if we had success with the model, you have Coordinators only around for 2-3 years max (getting HC offers or NFL gigs where coordinators typically go), and without a true overall vision/strategy, you are constantly installing major systems on one side of the ball or the other every couple of years.

Is it not Orgeron's fault that he is not talented as a head coach? If anything he, at the very least, has control over his own capabilities. And if he isn't good enough, that's his fault.

I am not addressing whether O is qualified or not ..
but to the stupid people who have said that he should have turned the job down because he knew he was not qualified ... really ???
about as dumb a remark as I have read here ...and that's saying something.

You must be pretty far along on the autism spectrum. You keep laughing at situations for which you really shouldn't be laughing. Based at least on your O beliefs.

Aranda was gonna leave next year anyway !

we are blaming Alleva and O because their entire plan consisted of hiring Coordinators smarter than the HC. And now as the house of cards crumbles, people begin to realize just how dumb of a plan that is.
This x 1000. The whole plan is a joke. Your head coach has to be strong on at least one side of the ball

No one is blaming O you incompetent frick.
You are dead wrong. About 80% on this board are doing just that. All of you emotional, hate filled, ditch diggers with a keyboard, need to calm down and see how this plays out.
1. I hope with all my heart that Aranda stays. Personally, I think he is going to the Packers.
2. There are plenty of great DC's in the college and pro ranks that would like to make $1.8 million. Aranda is not the only great one.
3. Our program is not in bad shape. In fact, we are loaded in 2018 for a great season if we get good QB play.
4. Canada is a douche and I hate his offense. O needs to send him walking.
5. You cowards are out of control with your hate and posts, and I wish all of you find a new team to hate on.
