Regions Financial Corp. today announced it will increase its hourly minimum wage to $15 an hour by year's end, just one move in what it says is a series of targeted, long-term investments in response to last month's rewrite of the nation's tax laws.

funny how free market economics work.
Now lets see what happens when the best local tellers move from Capital One and Chase to Regions. I bet I can guess.

This is all well and good---but it'd be nice if they went back to multiple tellers instead of the one poor soul that works the counter and the long line in front of it when I go in several times a week.

You are so wise. You could even suggest they name the machine the Automated Teller Machine, since you know, this just started being a thing

I hate banks nowadays. I remember as a child and teenager going to the bank with my parents and you would see nothing but men in suits and women in dresses or pants suits. Very professional. Nowadays, banks are nothing better than a fast food restaurant chain.

This is crazy. I thought the only way companies would increase their minimum wages was through the government forcing them to do so.

But it doesn't trickle down, it doesn't trickle down.

Hey, if supply side economics is enacted properly it will trickle down.
The issue is will it generate enough revenue to keep the machine ruining?

This is a very big deal.
Regions has a lot of locations in very small, very poor southern towns.
