The Nick Saban hire at LSU was the equivalent of hiring Bo Rein in 1979, unlike tragically losing Bo before he coached a game, Saban crashed his plane into us and the rest of CFB by taking the Alabama job.

And in this timeline Cholly Mac (Les Miles) followed the legend instead of preceeding the legendary hire. But just like then, same as now, a good ole home boy, one of our own, was hired in a rush to eventually tare down a promising and once prominent program.

What followed then, and what follows now, if Duke Lacrosse Joe and Eff KA keep calling the shots is the Dark Ages of LSU football.

To everyone who helped mac pac, all you miles haters and to nick saban and any who still carry his water, GFY.

people forget we went through 8 coaches from mac to Miles with those coaches only averaging 3 years at the program.

You need stability and Joe has fricked that.

The entire sec is repeating history. Running every program in the conference into the ground chasing one that will do anything to win. No other fanbase in college football will do for their program what the gumps are doing.

I think of it more as Saban being Dietzel, Miles being Cholly, and O being Stovall.

Hopefully the next coach is an Arnsparger and we get more than 3 years out of him.

This was a bad analogy. Try again in a new thread

so why are you wanting O to be replaced if you want stability?

How about wanting him replaced solely for credibility?

O = Curley
People went Crazy for Curley
Then people realized Curley was shite.
We are entering into the shite phase of this experiment.

Orgeron has no business running an elite program, he would rather pal around with the governor and enjoy some perks of being "LSU Coach".

O will never measure up to Stovall. Stovall had a high level football intelligence. Other areas lacked in the program at that time. Always wished he had been given more time and resources.

LSU football has truly become an open sepulchre in recent days, with rumours of firings and resignations and Coach Oeux transforming into an egomaniacal monster.

LSU football either will go through a dark period, as the late 80s and early 90s witnessed, or a prolonged doldrum, as seen at schools like Rice, Syracuse and Baylor during the generation spanning from Grant Taff to Art Briles.

If you don't like these comparisons, compare the univ of Texas and Mack Brown till now.

Not good. Much of what we are seeing, in my opinion is the attitude and goals of university leadership (or lack of) not being committed to athletics as an integral element of the system.

This is equivalent to the Mike Archer hire (The players coach) and all that came with that.

We will not see a team as good as the 2017 team for a long time. (Unfortunately)

Indeed. LSU will probably never win another game in your lifetime.

Miles' tenure was more like Dietzel's than Cholly's. Both have the titles.

Naw... we went 5-6 with Curley. I think we will win more games. Just no titles until a change is made.
