I've read about people losing an eye from opening champagne. I always point that shite away

Just grip the cork firmly and twist and pull slowly. Once it’s out a little, out your thumb on top and let the gas slowly push the cork out with your thumb regulating. As it gets toward the end, keep your thumb and the cork there as excess air is let out. It should be a quick *hiss*

Then fully remove cork like a baw
