I am in Pope...my in laws build mcMansions in Walton for the draw of the school. It sells homes.
I sold my condo in Walton dist to a Sandy Springs cop that wanted his kid going to Walton not North Springs. Said Fulton county was busing kids from South fulton to North Springs to give them a taste of the good life. He said he was constantly up at the Marta bus station in front of the fulton county high school and busting up fights. Justifying why he didn't want his kid there.

I love how absolutely everything that Leftists and Progressives try turns into Bizzaro World like when Newman had Jerry's apartment.
It never ceases to amaze me, but it is the only consistent outcome of "Progressive" economic policy is the exact opposite result of what they say they want to happen. (Quotations around Progressive deliberate because like everything else about them, no progress actually results. They want progression, but get regression).

If you want to live in more affluent neighborhoods don't have 5 kids you can't afford. Why do responsible adults have to take care of those who don't give two shits?

Odds that at any point during the churning out of those 5 children she was married or even cohabitating with the dads? Slim.
And, note, I said "dads" because let's be blunt here. It's a fricking damned safe bet they have more than one dad.
It really has gotten sad.
It's to the point that when I see a black football player's parents in the stands and the father is there, I'm genuinely taken aback............like, holy hell..........he has a dad!!!!

Activist judges are awesome. I should say Socialist, activist judges.

The likely unintended consequence of the judge's ruling will be a new effort to either reduce or eliminate taxpayer funded housing subsidies.

quote:I bet theses "studies" show that low income families who actually earn the money to move to wealthier neighborhoods do better, but not the ones who get it for free.
Studies have shown that moving low-income families into wealthier neighborhoods results in better lives for their children, who are eventually more likely to attend college, earn more money, and reside in better neighborhoods as adults.

This reminds me when Italy let the refugees have housing in the super affluent vacation areas. All these rich people that were telling everyone we need the immigrants started complaining about their vacation spots being ruined .
Stick the section 8 housing in the very affluent neighborhoods that vote for that kind welfare and they can have what they wanted.

They have already done this in Mobile. They took what would have normally been a prime piece of real estate on Airport Blvd in West Mobile and Bought the back half of the lot to build Section 8 housing across from Baker HS.
The apartments literally sit on the road that leads to the HS. Originally the said they were going to build a gate or fence around the property. Of Course the final version did not include that.

Now go find an affluent neighborhood willing to let this happen in their neighborhood.
Never will and rightfully so.

These regressive judges need to be removed from office. They only care about advancing their agenda.

Now let's look up government spending per wealthy and non wealthy students. It's the students, not the amount of money spent on the students plain and simple.

Yep. This country would be far better off if tax dollars were spent on keeping people out of the ditch rather than trying to get people out.

making it easier for poor people to afford apartments to begin screwing up middle-class neighborhoods with better schools, lower crime rates and more job opportunities.

So laws that havent existed for 50 years are the reasons for their problems today?
If that's the case, how are any minorities successful? I know quite a few very successful minorities.
If millions of minorities are successful today in the U.S., then you shouldn't attribute race as the reason for those who aren't. They just suck, like poor white people.
