2015 was really a clusterfrick of a perfect storm where lots of things had to happen to put JBE in office and they all had to happen or Vitter would've won.

First Vitter ran a very terrible campaign that was too lazy, complacent and overconfident. He didn't anticipate how much appeal someone like JBE had running as a so called pro-life and pro gun democrat would have in Louisana and he just basically let JBE sneak into the runoff uncontested without laying finger on him until it was too late. For that alone, Vitter deserved to lose the election as he earned the loss.

Secondly, GOP ankle biters in Dardenne and Angelle knew that they were hopelessly outclassed in having a good conservative and professional resume to present to Voters so they had to make Vitter as toxic as they could and that's why you saw several months of relentless character assassination on values issues including the affair and it worked all too well as it defeated them both and made sure Vitter could not consolidate the base to defeat JBE.

Oh and Jindal's second term being a complete disaster where he effectively abandoned this state was still fresh in voters minds and they were completely pissed off about it. Oh and Jindal timing his exit from the primaries the week of the runoff didn't help either.

La. is suffering from the oil downturn, and we are one of the few states who lost population.

JBE raised our taxes over 1.2 Billion dollars a year and now wants to make that level of taxes permanent so he can spend even more than he currently is.

We are a poor state with issues. Issues that Edwards neglects.

We can't afford all this spending, but Edwards refuses to look at meaningful spending cuts.
