There haven't been a lot of jobs since trump ruined the economy plus many of them can't get jobs due to racism or "citizenship" requirements

Roughly 7.5% of filers in Louisiana will see a tax hike, 10.8% will see no change, and 81.6% will see a tax cut. It's understandable that some people would be upset and vocal with a hike, and perhaps some that won't see any personal benefit too, but the vast majority will be in better shape.
Honestly it isn't possible for more than 60% of the workers to get a "tax cut".
40% of workers already pay zero tax.

I had no decision in bringing those underprivileged in this world, therefore I will lose no sleep in not providing for them before I provide for my own.
Heartless bastard aren't I?

As someone who understands how taxes work, it’s quite astonishing they keep saying that this will increase taxes for the middle class. With an increased standard deduction and lowering of tax rates, this is virtually impossible. My guess is that “‘middle class” to them means people making roughly $200K in states with higher income taxes.
There isn't a single state in this country where any quintile of tax payers will see more tax hikes than cuts. Not one.

The smart ones will become snitches in the camps and earn extra privileges the others won't receive.

How about if you can find me saying it’s bad, you pick my avi and dig for a year. If I can find me saying I think it’s good, I pick yours for a month.
If you don’t take the bet everyone will know who your daddy is.

Ah yes, the epitome of liberal self pity. Again, you win the prize.

Are you saying that you're in favor of this plan?

Probably about 25% of my FB friends are liberals, but they are pretty much all lawyers or other professionals. I saw melts for the election, net neutrality, travel ban, national parks, standing rock, etc.
I have seen literally zero criticism of the tax bill.

I don’t get it. Everything I’ve read on it gives more money back to tax payers, but I’ve had a couple libs (womenz) tell me that it’s bad because you can’t write-off as much.
I’ve tried explaining simple economics to these people but I can’t get it through to them. They are blinded by hatred for Trump to see the good he’s doing.
At an individual level? Maybe a few wealthy people in high tax states. Otherwise you are pretty much getting a cut.
At a national level? I think concerns about the deficit are real. Well, no that is poorly phrased. The CONCERNS about the deficit are from democrats who are only raising that issue for political reasons. The underlying issue of the deficit, does give me some heartburn though. Hopefully we can get some entitlement reform in the next three years.

My BIL called it a donor refund on Facebook. One of his friends laughed and said that he had been calling it donor reparations.

quote:Because unless you’re a true deficit hawk (I’m not and neither are 99.9% of voters) it’s simply not a bad tax plan. It hurts high salary earners with expensive real estate in high tax states. And they have a legit gripe. But that’s not that many people. It does just about jack shite for quite a few people. I’m a single filer who makes a decent salary and deducts more from my mortgage interest and property taxes (about $18000 a year) than the expanded standard deduction will cover). Still, in WA state I will save a few hundred a year. WA has no income tax. When I transfer residency to VA, a relatively high-tax state, I will lose about $900 a year (on average according to those imperfect calculators). So it’s really not going to affect me that much and I think it will help to stimulate the economy. Business owners, couples, and people with children will on average do much better with this than a single guy whose primary earnings are just salary income.
