LSU adds kicker, 2017 Fred Mitchell award winner Cole Tracy

#LSU picks up kicker who won the 2017 Fred Mitchell Award given to the top kicker in FCS, D2, D3 and JUCO
Cole Tracy will join the Tigers next August and will not count against #LSU’s scholarship count.
Tracy was 67-67 on PATs and 27-29 on FGs this season. Long of 53.

Didn't think they were going to announce this until next week, but nevertheless this is an exciting pick-up for this staff. The biggest "address the need" correctly I have seen so far.
Cole is a solid kicker. The fact that he ended up D-II is a product of getting lost in the shuffle and going through the wrong national camp system. As his stats show, very accurate kid. Doesn't spray balls.....sends them right down the pipe with very little lateral movement. He can hit the big ball also.....has a long of 53 and hit one or two FGs from 52.
Very excited to see him added. Of note however, Cole DID NOT handle KO duties. The last report I had on him indicated he may not have the leg to bury the ball in the end zone. Look for Culp to focus on that aspect of the kicking game. Look for Jack to fade into the background

Great pickup. We are fortunate our missed kicks didn’t affect wins/losses this year but we needed every point in the Florida and Auburn games. A kicker is a huge weapon.
