Some solid advice in here, thanks. I’m going to look for a house in midtown or apartments downtown. Looking forward to Mardi Gras as well

Might want to avoid the area north of Mobile, unsolved so far...

He’s 25 and single. Not married with 3 kids looking for a DR Horton trac house.

OP, Midtown/Oakleigh or Downtown.

If your working downtown avoid West Mobile like the plague unless you enjoy hanging in traffic (airport Blvd) for ever.

Look downtown for lofts and/or apartments.

Midtown (my area) is nice...but not too many options for rental.

Downtown has some decent after-work hangouts and local music places.

Lived here since Katrina. You can do apartments across the bay in Baldwin county but you will hate the Drive. I think I actually have a post on this topic somewhere.

Either get a place downtown or get apt in one of USAs apartments. You don’t have to be a student and I am sure you will find plenty of action

I’d recommend commuting from Baldwin County. Spanish Fort, Fairhope and Daphne all great options with good school systems.

Also only 30 mins from Gulf Shores

Really enjoyed living in midtown when I was in my upper 20's. Live in Fairhope now, and that drive would get real old. Not even so much I-10, but once you cross the bay, 98 and 181 are one long traffic jam to Fairhope.

Just live in one of those sketch apartments by the Bay House Pub in Daphne. If you have a job, you will get laid 3 nights a week.

Spanish Fort and Daphne are the next best thing to Fairhope on the eastern shore. Much quicker commute, too.
Everything on the eastern shore will be more expensive.
Midtown has some cool spots, south of Springhill Ave. and north of Government St.
West Mobile is good, anything West of University Blvd. and South of Airport Blvd.

You're right. Mt. Vernon would be better.

25 single like to be social, I'm assuming?

Look in midtown, Church Street and Oakleigh Garden District.

I've lived in Midtown for 5 years now. Love it.

Haha. Yes, you're probably right.

Honestly, Mobile has some nice places. Just like any other place... Research it and find out more. A lot of good info on here. I spent a lot of time there when I was younger. I have a lot of family there and I know there are good and bad spots. Good luck to op. I do miss it.... Sucks being so far away.

Damn, I was born and raised in Mt Vernon, right on the tip top of Searcy Hill. Never thought I’d see it mentioned on here.

More than likely. I lived in Mt Vernon until I was 25 or so. Still have family there.
When I was a kid, in the 70’s and early 80’s, Mt Vernon was great....not so much anymore.
