I was looking around at basketball recruiting was wondering if there was any news on him right now. Noticed he is one of the few basketball recruits in this years class that hasn't signed with the school he committed to. If he is having second thoughts is LSU in the running for him again?

LSU is just as much in the running now as they always have been - which is not at all.

Wasn't sure with wade as the coach and him seeing what has happened offensively in the first month and a half of the season could possibly change somebodies mind.

He's not coming here to live in dad's shadow regardless of who the coach is, and also he's signed to Arizona, he cant go anywhere.

He signed a financial aid agreement which isn't binding like a LOI is

Why does he need financial aid?
Jk of course.
How good is Shareef?

Thank God! How the hell else could he afford that school

Of course I would love to have Shareef at LSU, but the bigs that we have signed and the ones we are going after are better.

Shaq's kid needs financial aid?!
Posted on 12/15/17 at 7:25 pm to tigerfan84
No, but should he turn down a full scholarship?
Posted on 12/15/17 at 7:44 pm to beauchristopher
That’s what a scholarship is. Rich kids all across this country have been given them forever and that hasn’t and will never change.

Pretty sure it is the parents that are “rich,” not the kid. And just because a kid comes from money, he shouldn’t be rewarded for his/her hard work and effort in school and/or athletics?

He should. Was just messing around.
It is nice in baseball when a rich recruit can pass on a full ride so they can be used on another recruit though. Especially with the stupid limitations on full rides in the sport.
I see he’s the 9th ranked player at his position and a 4 star. Seems pretty good.

Signed a letter of intent with Arizona. Good fit for him and incredible coaching as a big man. He will not be a one and done, likely a 3-4 year player.
I dont think he wanted to be under the microscope by coming to LSU. Will probably get crucified for this, yes any coach would want a Top-40 hs recruit but some of our other post recruits are better fits for CWW.

Well, like other's have already posted, it's not LSU, it's the massive shadow his father cast. Though, I don't agree with his perception on that shadow thing. Basically he doesn't want to come to LSU with high expectations that he be as good as his dad, I don't see it that way. I would never expect him to come close to being as good as Shaq, not even close. Shaq was a 7 foot 1 280 pound mountain that had freakishly good athletic ability. Nobody, not any competent person who understands the game and difference between him and his dad, would expect him to be as good as Shaq. If he came to LSU and didn't even start, I would not have anything negative to say. I mean, he's basically LSU basketball royalty. Just him being on LSU's team would be fine with me. Like Pistol's boy, he wasn't as good as his dad, and I didn't care, he was royalty. So, I just don't think anybody would rag the kid about his game if he did chose LSU.

It’s a little different. Shareef is a legitimate SEC player. Jason wasn’t a legitimate D 2 player.

Yea, I know what you mean, I was just saying I'd like him to attend LSU because of who his dad is, regardless of his ability. He could never be his dad, and even if he turns out to be a bust, I wouldn't think bad of him. I mean, if he went to LSU. But, I know some players feel pressure to succeed because of who they are. Some can handle that pressure, some can't. A player going from HS to college doesn't need any extra pressure than the fact they are in college where the competition is greater and academics are tougher.
