politicians on both sides represent the worse we have to offer morally.
Politicians are no worse than most people.

Because decent people either don't run, or when they do they get eaten alive by the smear machine.
There aren't many decent people in DC who are even in the conversation for president anyway. It takes a billion plus to make a run and I don't see the cronies lining up behind decent people.

quote:Ok. But that doesn't explain how the two worst (morally) people to seek the presidency in modern times beat out all competition in their respective parties in 2016. Or how an alleged ephebophile beat out other Republicans for nomination to the Senate. Mind you, we're talking intra-party races and primaries, so it's not about "who represents your policy positions." These are the guys the people wanted.

So you still don't know how HRC rigged the entire dnc primary or how she lost the general?
And you still don't understand the protest vote against the rnc and DC that got DJT elected?

That was the point.

Don't let Bill Clinton hear that. He'll be pissed to know you don't consider him as modern.

Eh. You have to choose from who runs. People fall prey to spin of the well monied candidate far too often. I'll give you that, but I'm not seeing a whole lot of decent people running for anything these days.
I could make a faint hearted argument for Rand Paul, but outside of that, everyone who ran for president was fricking horrible.

Hillary has name recognition and in addition was able to use the party to prevent competition from even entering against her
Roy Moore was the completely logical result of what happens when all of the money flows in behind a candidate nobody wants and then uses that money to run a scorched-earth campaign against Mo Brooks. Basically they poisoned the well. Mo Brooks supporters would have rather stick a needle in their eye then go to the polls for Luther strange after that bullshite primary
Finally Donald Trump is super easy to explain. It started out as him just making the most noise and a multi horse race so that everybody else split the vote among themselves. And then the turning point was when all of the rest of them decided to become Democrats and blame Trump supporters for the fact people were coming to kick their arse.
All three of those are completely easy to explain politically. To pretend otherwise is silly

I'm still trying to figure out why it is that people who have it so well in life, never struggle to pay a bill, have no financial worries, and have it better than do most Americans and most people in the world are so damn angry.

How many of those running last year qualify under that banner?

People are a lot more "everything" when posting or tweeting and not conversing face to face.

How Hillary and Trump won isn't hard to explain at all. How they were selected by people who claim that they want good, honest leaders leading them is.

Of those running against Clinton, everyone was a better man (though Bernie's shite is way too crazy for the presidency).

It would be silly for it to be a fair amount concern
I've said for YEARS that only 3 things matter when voting
1. What the person says he stands for
2. How well does how they actually operate in office comport with #1
3. How well does 1 & 2 match what you want as a voter?
It's impossible to REALLY know the people. Seemingly good people are shite. Good people get their character assassinated
So. I vote based on shite i actually can see

You do realize that they admitted the Benghazi attack had nothing to do with the video and knew it at the time, right?
That isn't something they could have known at the time.
And to this day I have yet to see anyone say what the motivation was if not anger towards the West / U.S.

I can't speak to those who voted HRC and all the whys. I can speak for myself as to my vote for DJT. I see DC, the MSM and the donor class as running amok. Pay for play. Pols in all positions in the MSM. The FBI and the IC community seemingly being politicized. And then my party goes all in for Jeb a RNCe despite our warning not to go for a Clinton v Bush again. I didn't vote for goodness. I voted for a small chance to pull back the curtain and shine a light on all the crap, lies and morally bankrupt people and policies in DC. See slush funds and recent FBI stories as a small sample group.

I think the Clinton haters were highly justified. If anything your post has me more convinced than ever I am right to hate the Trump administration.
